I've seen the videos and it looks good so far. There are closed beta invites being sent out via twitter and facebook everyday so I'm hoping I can get on and see what the potential is. If it plays well like Diablo and gives us the entertainment and longevity needed in MMO's they might have a hit on their hands. I'm stoked for this especially since you can play as an actual hero

Like a white mage from Final Fantasy, I am reviving this thread.

So a bit of background/confessional: I've never been into comic books. At least, I've never enjoyed super hero comics. I don't know why - they just don't do it for me. I wish they would because I know it's not the medium. I loved Preacher. I am a huge superhero fan though. Not all superheroes (I have a great disdain for Spider Man), mind you, but I am a fan. I am absolutely jacked for this game. It combines one of my favorite genres (ARPGs) with some of my favorite subjects (Superheroes) and the loot pinata/itemization knowledge of the ones who did it the best (D1/2).

Like you, I've caught some of the videos and can't wait for this to go live. Sadly, I can't talk about the game due to the whole NDA thing.

I've tried it. Not my cup of tea for MMOs - I think a superhero arpg is right up my alley though.

The only real MMOs that draw me in are fantasy. Maybe cyberpunk if one was done right.

I might spring for a premium pack so I can get into the beta since they are offering the promo. I'm hoping the game does well because it does have potential with the license.

I too didn't like DCUO much because I didn't like the gameplay.

Well right now the beta times are very limited. I've seen a max of like 8 hours a day, and that's on some weekends. Otherwise it will be like 4 hour blocks during the week.

Besides getting the game a few days early and beta. Will I be able to get the characters later on in the game without buying a premium pack? I'm somewhat interested in the game but don't care about the beta, etc. since I'm limited on time as it is right now.

Yes, all character and costumes (save for... 4 I think [spidey black symbiote, iron man 3 movie armor, wolverine weapon x and one other] are for the $200 founders only) drop. No idea on what the rarities of the drops will be in the released version, obviously.

They did a great job on the models in the game. Just watched a video showing the process of it all. Really, really well done.

I really havent followed this game at all. Getting ready for PAX, so I dont have time to look into either. Hoping for a great show this year. Should be quite a few new products announced and shown.

How does gear work with the heroes? Is it only stats along the lines of Champions Online?

I never played Champions, but the gear drops will be only stat changes. There won't be any cosmetic changes as the heroes retain their looks. Alternate costumes drop though

Your starting heroes are: Thing, Storm, Scarlet Witch, Daredevil, and Hawkeye. They have made packs available for purchase if you want a specific hero, but it is possible to earn everything via drops except the exclusive costumes in the Ultimate Pack.

I'm going to buy the premium pack and try to get into the beta. Game looks like it's coming along well from the videos I've seen

Right. I meant to say those are the 5 free ones you get to pick from when you start. I got a premium pack so I will get a beta key I know I will play this game a lot as a Marvel geek and Diablo style game. The way I see it, it'll be fun.

I can't wait though until the NDA is lifted so I can hear more detailed impressions from those who have played
