I've been an avid fan of this site for years.
I work at a plastics company in Apex, NC.
I love this site. I think that everyone here is pretty cool in their own way and has something to contribute even if it's trolling or beta testing the final product.
I apologize to Steve that it's taken me so long to get my priorites straight and donate to help out here.
On too the questions.
How long have you been reading Operations Sports and what brought you here?
I had been a member on the forums i believe in 2002, but then something happened where I had to recreate a name... I decided to just be a "guest" until Feb of 03, when who knows what caused me to post something. More than likely it was nothing too terribly exciting. It probably had something too do with Basketball, which is why I've avoided that forum for years since. *laughs* I heard it got too be one of the most interesting sub threads on the site.
When I worked retail (EB, Gamestop, and Coconuts/FYE - yes they sell games as well) I would pimp this site out continually for any sports nut that came into my store.
What made you decide to donate to Operation Sports?
I've wanted too for some time now. I finally was in a spot where I started thinking about all the usless crap I had bought over the years and what purpose did it serve.
So instead of buying something that was pointless, I finally wanted too put it to good use. A friend of mine told me how much his site costs too run and doesn't even get a fraction of the hits OS gets and I felt like I should do something since I love this place. It's the only board on the internet i've been that the majority of the guys here aren't ****** all the time.
Your favorite sports teams?
I was born in Ohio, but only lived there for 3yrs. My dad's love of the Cleveand Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes rubbed off on me.
Then I moved to Western MA when I was 8. I lived in a small town of 3500 people called Deerfield.
I became a fan of the Patriots (back when they had the crap red and white and were cellar dwellers)... Phenoix Suns (When they had Barkely, Ainge, and Marjerle)... Boston Red Sox....
Then I moved to Raleigh NC and wsa able to devote more time into watching Hockey and I LOVE the Carolina Hurricanes. The players, not the management.
What are your hobbies?
I love video games. Always have, always will.
Now that I'm older I don't play as much, but I still love it like I did when I had my atari 2600.
I write and record music at home. This is not a garage band kind of thing. I have spent over $20,000
dollars in guitars, keyboards (expansion sound cards), mics, recording equipment, cables, headphones...
This is my stress releiver from life.
I've been helping a local girl get some of her songs recorded so she can send them out to various places. She's got a wonderful voice and is 19. I think if she puts in the effort she could have moderate sucess.
I'd rather more so produce than ben an artist at this rate, which is good, since I'm old by music industry standards.
Sufice to say. I love music. I don't hate on any of it, even i don't like certain styles of music as much as others.
Tell us about about your family?
I'm still living with my parents.... as is my brother and his fiance. My parents have begged us to stay. Basically I have 2, 60yr old roomates and 2 dogs. Elsewise I come and go as I please.
The only other family that I really consider to have is my old girlfriend of 10yrs (we broke up 2yrs ago), an old HS friend Nancy, and my friend Ben.
If all goes well, the girl I'm seeing now will be family one of these days. She's a gamer!!! And is going too college for graphics art and 3D modeling. Her aim is too work in the gaming industry.... to help create a MMORPG.
Outside of that... there's really not much else too say.
