Last night as I was sitting on the couch watching TV, I get a phone call from my dad that my grandfather passed away. My whole family pretty lives in Greece except for my parents, siblings, and some cousins that live here in the U.S. He was 88 yrs old and passed away from a heart attack.
The most ironic thing is that when my grandma passed away last year, my dad had called me on a Wednesday at 7:00 pm like he did last night for my grandpa. Plus the night before, my 4 yr old daughter was telling my wife and I that she was seeing an old man in my son's bedroom. Just very ironic.
It really sucks that I can't be in Greece right now for the funeral. My grandpa and I share the same first name.
It's been rough losing 2 granparents in 1.5 years, my dad suffering a stroke at the beginning of the summer, and now my mom has been getting really sick from stress the last 2 months, and my wife and I working through some rough waters in our marriage. I sometimes wonder if life ever gets any easier.
