I would actually agree too. If I see a crowd behind me or whatever, I'll do what I can to make things quick. If that means turning in forward at the drop of a hat, then by all means that's okay with me.
All I was really concerned about is that people seem to think I have shown to wanted a spot... and then for some reason I stopped wanting it despite my blinker, slight outward turn, and braking again? They haven't seen someone back in before?

Here's actually another example: I might find somebody who is leaving, and then ease in front of the spot so I can back in, reverse lights on and everything. When that car backs out, the schnub who came after me behind the spot decides to turn in as I'm waiting for the car to finally leave. Jackass steals my spot because he can, not because he didn't see me or think I would be too slow. I'll be just as fast because I'm already in position.
