Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
Glad you were able to get out.
Z, thinking about you. Give us an update if you can though I'm sure you'll be rationing power and thinking about more important things then OS.
I've got a good friend in Pompano Beach but it sounds like his job has taken care of him. Another good family friend in Clearwater. She's actually battling cancer right now so this is a tough double whammy. Not sure exactly the geography of Florida and its cities but it seems like the whole state is getting hit with the coastal places the worst off.
I can't imagine coming back to... nothing. Never been hit by a devastating natural disaster. I don't even know where I'd start to put the pieces back together. So I just hope and pray everything holds up.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Thanks slick and everyone else, I feel pretty safe where I'm at now, storm shutters up on all windows and garage door reinforcements and out of the evac zones.
And glad to hear you got out terpin.
It doesn't seem like they really know where this thing is actually going though lol. Track keeps going more west with each update and it's supposed to be making the turn to Florida right about now but is still heading west which will just weaken it even more as it further interacts with Cuba. We'll see.

Second Hurricane Warning in a year. Wonderful. Concerned with the westward trends up here in the panhandle.Comment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
No hard data to go on, but I'm a little concerned that this hurricane doesn't really give a crap that it's been forecast to maybe hit Florida, then almost certainly maybe definitely hit Miami, then split right up through the middle of Florida, then the eye will most certainly go right over the Keys, then it's most definitely headed toward Naples (look at both models and how they agree!!), then Tampa....what are the odds that it never turns North like the meteorologists have been banking on? And just sort of meanders on over toward New Orleans? If that happens, this would be a serious black eye to their profession to evacuate all of these Floridians for no reason. Not to mention the Katrina 2.0 potential.
There seems to be a little cone of uncertainty on their cone of uncertainty. For both the path and the intensity of the storm.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Yesterday they had a model that takes it right to the Texas Louisiana border. It's certainly a possibility.

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
It seems to have made the turn now. Heading NNW. The eye is right over Key West as we speak so there's the first US landfall. It's been raining here since about 9pm last night and winds are slowly picking up. Fortunately I haven't lost power yet, I'm not really looking forward to that. This isn't how I'm supposed to spend my NFL Sundays lol.Last edited by z Revis; 09-10-2017, 09:41 AM.Indianapolis Colts

Boarded up and hunkered down beach side in Daytona. Tornado warnings popping up everywhere. Heavy rain and gusty winds. Worst is still to come.Comment
