I am trying to relocate/transfer within our organization so my wife can go after a job opportunity in the airline industry, which she worked for 6 years prior to our marriage. We are currently expecting our first child in March of this year.
She has a couple of job offers, but they are 2.5 hours away from my current assignment. I'm trying to obtain a hardship transfer request, but they're looking at my situation as if it's not a hardship, and it looks like I will be living 2.5 hrs away from my wife and newborn child for the first 6-7 months of her life.
I can't necessarily tell my wife not to pursue this job, as right now, she's working a minimum wage job in a profession that she has no desire to be in. She has sacrificed so much in order to let me do what I want to do career wise, and I feel like I need to be there and do the same for her.
I don't know whether or not I'll be granted this hardship transfer, but just please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers, as I don't know what will happen throughout this process.
Thanks fellas.
Will
