Nothing. We are extremely busy right now with my son's hockey and extracurriculars that we barely have time to prepare dinner let alone go out and do something.

I might buy a card, but my wife is such a laid back character that it's no big deal. I figure I'll brave the cold and grill up some steaks and pineapple (the latter being her fave) and kick back and catch up on some shows off the DVR.

Re: What are you doing for your significant other for Valentines?

We all seem to have similar mindsets around here. The girlfriend & I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day and the last 2 years we've had people over to have fun for an anti-Valentine's Day celebration.

She wanted to work that night as it'll be busy at the restaurant so good money, but she's still struggling with vertigo so it looks like that idea is shot. Plus, with her not being able to work, she wants me to not splurge on any V-Day gifts so I can cover her bills until she gets to feeling better. Her struggling with this has really allowed me to step up and show my love for her in just spending time with her, picking up lunch, and just taking care of her. She's always done it for me whenever I needed her and I'm just happy I could return the favor, though I wish it wasn't in this circumstance.

I'm sure I'll find some small thing to do, though. It's always nice to have a little surprise, and she's always been a sucker for something from the heart.

We're going to go out on Saturday. Got the Aunt and Uncle to come over and watch the kid's so we can go catch a nice dinner and a movie and maybe a few drinks after. It's rare that we get a night out to ourselves, so we thought this was a good opportunity. We don't do big gifts, but I usually send her roses.

We won't be seeing each other until a week after, I believe. We'll be going to Wintergreen to have a relaxing day on the slopes (although I've heard they've restricted it to tubing, so boo) and then relax the next day as well. We actually had this planned as just a fun thing to do, and we realized it was marginally close to Valentine's Day, and decided we were going to do that. I think that's the last weekend of this month.

Pack, I know here at Pike Place Market (farmer's market) they do...they've had blue roses before, I think they just dye them. You could do that yourself.

That's no way to talk about your aunt.

Anyway, on topic, I've already sent the package. Should arrive at her door in Alabama tomorrow. I'll be 5 hours away on V-Day thankfully so I don't have to waste my Monday.

I'm probably not going to do anything, well, maybe take her out to eat. It'll have to be this weekend though since I am booked solid from 930 am to 915 pm with classes on Valentines Day. She'll get over it.

                          I hate Valentines Day.

I already got my wife a card, chocolate, a big stuffed animal, roses, and were going to go out to dinner.

I use to put effort into Valentines Day back when we were dating, now it's just a nuisance, but I gotta keep her happy.

Hopefully her dessert isn't as dry as a desert.

Lol my wife used to do that nearly every year. We usually don't buy each other anything for valentines day and every year we would say that and every year she would get me something small.

Kinda sucked because then I wouldn't have anything for her but what can ya do.
