Re: School Play + Scarface = Awesomeness
If this was real and I had a kid in it, they wouldn't have been in the play any longer. These kids are young and may not know what they are saying, but they know they can say it on stage, so they are naturally going to start saying it everyday. Kids are hilarious, at least when they aren't your own, and they will do and say funny things. They want your approval and if you laugh at inappropiate behavior, it will continue. The people who allowed this to happen, whether it is real or not, have taught the kids you can say or act like this and people will clap and approve.Comment

But it's not really a school play, says producer Marc Klasfeld of Rockhard Films. It's just a video aimed at illustrating the pervasiveness of sex and violence in our media culture -- and how it blankets children on a daily basis.
--------
The children in the video are between the ages of 7 and 10, Klasfeld said. He collaborated with a Los Angeles, California, casting director, with whom he's worked on several projects, to find talented children for the video.
The children's parents, he said, have not complained about the content, but then again, the casting was in Hollywood, where "we're asked to do all sorts of things."
"Obviously there are people who find it outrageous and provocative, but there are a lot of parents, who are like me and my wife, who see all the violence on television and all the different things that are sold to children and that's a thousand times worse than this video."Comment

Re: School Play + Scarface = Awesomeness
they should have just nixed all the 'fudge' talk and changed coke to 'pepsi' and it would have been cute. 'mother fudger' was too much.
I'm a scarface fan, and they could have taken inspiration from the edited for TV version.
ex. "this town is like one great big p00sy just waiting to get fuhked"
went to
"this town is like one great big chicken just waiting to get plucked"
that's being creative instead of just using words that sound similar.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: School Play + Scarface = Awesomeness
Interesting concept re: the CNN article. They got their point across though so I give them props for it. This just exposes in the most extreme way how kids are exposed to this kind of stuff and sometimes far far worse on a regular basis but we shrug our shoulders and don't say anything yet this video made us stand up and take notice.
If only we would taken notice at what is spoonfed to children every day the way we did this video the world would probably be a bit of a better place. I gotta commend these people for making a point to us all without making it heavy handed or preachy.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
