Pimping out your car, how much have you done or willing to do ?
I am making this thread because one
of my boys has just put 3 tvs in his ride. 2 in the head rest and 1 on the dashboard. So how far are you willing to go with modifying your car or how far have you gone so far ?Last edited by Gotmadskillzson; 04-11-2010, 02:23 AM.Tags: None -
Re: Pimping out your car, how much have you done or willing to do ?
I would never put TV's in my car. lol. To be honest it seems like a waste of money to me. I don't really go to extremes when it comes "pimpin" out my car anyways. I'll do the basic stuff(rims, paint, stereo system, some engine work) and that's it. Just got my car repainted jet black and tinted the windows. Eventually I'll get tires and rims for it. Nothing else needs to be done after that; it's plenty fast enough(v6), runs great, and the stereo is already "pimpin". lol.Indianapolis Colts

My car is a piece of **** so I'm not willing to put any work into it. Although, I have seen dudes with even worse cars than mine do some crazy work on there's so I dunno.
When I was in high school I wanted to do all the stereo, body kit, engine, fast and furious bullish but luckily I never had the money to go farther than the stereo. I'd look ******** right now if I was driving in something with a lime green paint job and a spoiler fit for an aircraft.Comment

A stereo, speakers, and some decent tires is all I need and all I'll do. Don't exactly need a tv in there because I'm the one driving and I could care less about my passengers...all I care about is there safety.Comment

I won't get a tv in my car unless its an SUV an I have kids. Right now I'm in the process of performance tuning my 92 Honda Prelude. After I do the engine then ima purchase a lip kit and get a good paint job. Finally ima get new carpet an replace my whole interior to go with my cars color scheme. I love my car, its a classic beauty so ima do everything to keep it running forever. Heres the color ima get. To me it looks like a dark teal.Attached FilesComment

Re: Pimping out your car, how much have you done or willing to do ?
^ I like that color
And like Cam'ron said, "Theres a pimp in my ride, no need to pimp the ride."
I drive a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon and I love it. It runs great and looks great. The only thing I don't like is the color once I can get some money saved up I'm going to repaint it jet black. I might get my windows tinted not sure yet. I already have a stereo system in it and have new tires that are only 3 months old that look great.
I laugh at these guys who drive these pieces of crap and get all this work done to their car yet their car is still a piece of crap. I can't tell you how many times I've seen these banged up cars with these huge rims on them that cost more then their car.
I also don't get the whole tv thing. Unless I'm driving an SUV and have kids it's pointless to me.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

No need for TVs in your car unless you're a parent that takes their kids on long drives and needs an easy way to shut them up in the backseat. Just a massive waste of money.
As far as "pimping out" my car - I wouldn't do **** to my currenty car, but if I ever had a nice car, the most I'd do would be some tinted windows, nice tires and an audio system. I have no interest or need to waste my money on any other upgrades.Comment

$0.
The only money I spend is the money to buy it, and the service costs. No desire to waste money on "pimping" a car.Comment

Nothing. I want my car to get me from A to B, and be reliable and fuel efficient as possible. I'd put all the money needed for service. That's all.
On the other hand, I've been dreaming for years of a 1957 Chevy Bel Air (as a second car, of course)... Now that's what I'm talking about! My Specs:

Re: Pimping out your car, how much have you done or willing to do ?
I have an 04 subaru sti and I've upgraded the suspension, riims, carbon fiber hood and trunk, which I have since painted it black to protect from oxidation.
I haven't done too much under the hood but I will soon. I've done turbo back exhaust, upgraded up pipe, short shifter, upgraded clutch, pulleys and had it tuned with an awesome shop her in az.
I used to have 12 sub in the back until it went out. So i'll pick one up when I get the touch screen stereo that I want.Comment

Wind guards (definitely helps here in the South being able to leave your windows slightly down in the summer) and chrome grill for the front of my Jeep.
Also chromed the side view mirrors.Comment

Re: Pimping out your car, how much have you done or willing to do ?
Rims...and that's about it..maybe just a lip/rear kit..and if it has a spoiler already on the car i'd probably get rid of it because they look like crap 99% of the time. And if it didn't cost a fortune(or at least I believe it does) maybe I would redo the interior of the car-although that is only if it is one of those ugly furry, tan interiors that used to span all mini vans and crappy sedans of the 80's/90's.
I'd want something more like this...
Not this...
