Do u think us OS'ers complain about video games more than any other forums?

Don't get me wrong I think it is kind of good that some of us complain and bitch about some games so that the developers can listen and improve from their mistakes. There are alot of developers that would actually interact with us on OS compared to other forums. I, myself complained on the NBA 2K, NCAA FB & Madden forums multiple times so don't take it the wrong way.

But from reading all the threads on each forums whether its MMA, NBA 2K, Madden, NFL 2K5, ect. I see more complaints than appreciation threads. LOL.

PS: I am just bored that is why I created this thread and for the record I am guilty myself of complaining but I don't take it to the extreme like that guy from the NCAA FB forums who was complaining about dreads. LOL. I forgot his name but alot of guys busted his balls for that. Haha.

I think they articulate their complaints better, though, which makes them worthwhile and a valuable part of this place. Well thought out and well written complaints are a very good thing, considering the amount of developers here.

It's the ones that aren't well thought out that are a drag on this place. There aren't as many of them, but they're there. And it's nowhere near as bad as other forums.

I think they articulate their complaints better, though, which makes them worthwhile and a valuable part of this place. Well thought out and well written complaints are a very good thing, considering the amount of developers here.

It's the ones that aren't well thought out that are a drag on this place. There aren't as many of them, but they're there. And it's nowhere near as bad as other forums.

You want to see 5 star complaining and whining, go to GameFaqs forums. That site is barely moderated and people are able to say anything about anybody on there all day everyday.

I believe there is an issue with over exaggerating issues. Every small complaint with the game is considered a "game breaker" or "game killer".

In the Madden forums, yes most definitely. The other forums here not so much.

I orginally voted no, But I would change it to yes. Sports games are a different breed of video games, in that they are released on a yearly basis. There really is no other equal(other than Music games but lets see how long that can sustain itself). Since OS is the premier sports video game forum, we get the hardcore sports fans. So since there is only a 1 year window for improvements, most sports games will have problems that people can nit pick.

I am sure there are other forums b**** and moan more than we do but I would definitely say that we do it more than 95% of other gamers.

No, the internet is a giant collection of forums for people to complain and hide behind handles. OS is probably the only place where you'll see complaints about a player wearing the wrong color batting gloves in game though.

Exactly.....they complain about every game, every console, every everything on that website. What is even worse, is that half the people on there that complain don't even own that game or that console they bashing. They just going by word of mouth.

I think we all understand there are issues with certain games - but when the issues are acknowledged by the development staff and a statement of intent to fix it is made, the isssue should be less rampant on the forums.

I don't think OS'ers complain more due to the heavy moderation here (which to me is a very good thing). Any game forum is going to have a lot of complaints. People are passionate about their games.

Complaint threads are an important part to any game forum but sometimes it becomes overkill.

If a glitch "kills" a game to you... I'm sorry. But if that same glitch can be avoided by not exploiting it or playing against random people online, it can be avoided.

Yeah but at the same time people play/prefer different modes. Some people like the competition that random online play provides. If you're playing a significant # of people who are exploiting the pump-fake glitch online that I'm fine with people using the work "kill".

I'd say no. The site is "dedicated to sports gaming." I consider it a hobby of mine. When you can get a group of guys in a discussion that aren't ego infused maniacs, and they want to talk about the pros and cons of a title, it makes for some very good conversation.

When I look at some of the veteran OS users, and then some newer ones, I don't think it's a complaining issue. I think it's a realization that they just put down $65 on a game and want it to be substantial in its offering. OS offers that person an avenue to discuss what's on their mind about a title and then hear the other side of the fence from another person.

When you consider the volume of posts here, I don't think there is too much complaining at all.

What I think happens here more so than at other gaming forums is that here there's this degree of implied objectivity - given the nature of sports, and how most of us are sports fans, opposed to how not many people are military veterans or gun aficionados - versus at non-sports gaming sites there's a much greater understanding of the subjectivity involved with a given game's experience.

People who bash a Heavy Rain or a God of War are just kind of, you know, missing out, whereas people who bash NCAA 11, goddamnit they're football geniuses and their opinion is end-all.

Short answer, though, no, I think complaining here is about on par with the complaining gamers do in general.
