I'm not sure how I feel about this. I don't think he should of been fired but it was bad taste to wear the tie. I don't buy him honoring his late grandmother excuse either.

Yeah, I don't buy that either but, I still think that the firing is pretty stupid. Maybe it's because I can empathize with the guy because I'm a Bama fan who has been working in Baton Rouge for the last 3 years. For the first year, I worked as an Assistant Manager at a furniture store. They had a pretty strict dress code and all managers had to wear I tie. I never wore a Bama tie to work but, I did wear a white dress shirt, khakis and a red tie on every Saturday during the fall, openly spoke about being a Bama fan and I never got in trouble.

At my current job, I don't deal with customers but, the owner of the company played football for LSU. Also, we have a bunch of ex-players working for us and some current players "work" for us during the Summer. Friday is "Purple/Black and Gold day and I usually wear my Bama, Packer, Red Sox or Celtic attire. I catch a ton of **** for it but, I would certainly never be fired because of it.

I went up to Atlanta with some of my family for a Braves game since my entire family is Braves fans but me being a Marlins fan. Braves fans were prolly the nicest dans I've met.

JC, that's crazy. I sold cars for about 3 months. It was my first job in sales and it sucked balls. I got lucky and backed my way into a couple of sales but, I think I only sold about 15 or 16 cars the entire time. However, that makes me think maybe theres something more to this story.

Indiana Hoosiers have always been cool to me. Minnesota Twins fans too. Although it's a small sample size so for all I know the other 99% of their fans could be dicks.

Yeah I think the general manager was more afraid that guy was going to replace him as general manager pretty soon. If you selling 42 cars in a month, you are on your way to being promoted to general manager or assistant general manager.

So it really seems like a jealousy issue. Nobody going to fire somebody that is making them serious money like that over a tie......So it is either a jealousy issue or he found out his wife or daughter got the hots for this salesman.

I know my friend got fired because of that once. The boss's wife had the hots for my friend, my friend never even touched the lady or made any advances at her at all. But once the boss noticed she started coming up to the job on a daily basis chit chatting with my friend, boss gave him the axe.

I've been to a few Chicago Cubs games and their fans were really friendly everytime, even though I'm a Reds fans. Also Wisconsin fans were cool too when I went to Madison but that was only for one game so it was a small sample set.

This is a cool question and could be thread worthy.


I have never had a problem going to see the A's either in Baltimore or Cleveland but Philly was a different story. And for the first time in 6 years I will be back there for the A's series this year.

I also recently had a nice experience in Columbus at an Avalanche game. I went by myself and was sitting in a packed section of the arena and everyone was extremly nice to me. Maybe they appreciated the fact that I apologized in advance for getting excited when the Avs scored...
