I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Baseball is the sport. I could watch baseball all day every day. To me, every game does matter and just watching the duel between a pitcher and a batter is something that no sport can compete with.
Also, I am now 24-34-8 in my NHL Be a GM mode. I've won 9 straight too, which is sad that I'm only at 24 wins after a 9 win streak 66 games into a season. However, I did start this mode as soon as I got the game, so my first time ever playing an NHL game was in the preseason of this "franchise" and since then, every game has just been me practicing and learning the sport better, which I think it's clear I am finally understanding it. I didn't even hit double digit wins on the year until 40+ games in, so now that I'm starting to slowly creep back towards .500, though it's already impossible to get to already, it's clear I've gotten a lot better and am seeing more realistic results for my team. A 9 game win streak might be almost a bit of a stretch, but I did just actually have to improve my sliders after hitting 7 games, and now on the harder sliders I've still won 2 straight, but my team is hot.
It feels so rewarding to have stuck with this game and finally see my season take a positive turn. Though I'll still be near the bottom of the league even if I continue winning the majority of my games, I'm happy with this year. I'm going to play all the remaining games and not sim any of them, but I am really excited for next season as I think it will go a lot better and I'll be a playoff contender now that I'm actually a good player and am having my team actually win when they should.
It's funny how I can not even get close to finishing a season in NBA, I got like 20-30 games in 2k11, I always only get around 70 games in my MLB franchises, and it feels like it takes forever to finish a season in Madden or NCAA, but I get NHL 12, it's my first hockey game, I hardly knew anything about the sport or league, and I've played 66 games, plus 5 preseason games and I will easily finish the season by playing every single game.

That's about it. Used to love the NBA when the Sonics were still in Seattle... but after that whole ordeal, I lost every ounce of interest I had in the league and couldn't care less about it now.Comment

Playing witht he T-Wolves on 11 was rough. I rage quit a ton. Then again, just playing the NBA 2K games against the CPU make me want to do that a ton. This year was the first time I played every game in a season longer than football though with NHL 12. All 82 games only to get swept by the ****ing Penguins in the first round.
I can see why they say it though. I like baseball, but not nearly as much as you guys. I can just keep up with the box scores and catch a game every once in awhile and still fill like I've gotten my baseball fix (till the Cardinals and Giants ruin everything). I don't care for the season lasts too long argument though because most of those people watch basketball which is at least a month longer by the time the playoffs are up usually. But I can definitely see why they feel that way if they aren't super invested into it.

I lost about 80% of my interest in the NBA during the lockout. I still watch a couple minutes of a game every now and then, but not as much as I used to. So for me it's

I wish I could find more televised NHL.
After playing the NHL games, I've learned to appreciate the sport. I'd like to start following a team, but I'm not sure how to make a decision like that. My current favorite teams were either from birth or from a really young age.Comment
