When I wear a watch I'll use it for the time. When I wear a nice dress watch when I go to a interview or something fancy it's for the look more then anything.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Guess my friends appointment is taking longer than she expected. *sigh* Guess we'll get lunch some other day. Now I'm hungry because I haven't eaten a damn thing all day and I worked out this morning.

As GMSS says, it's probably a mixture of the two and i'm sure older people still use the wristwatch in the way its intended as well.

Anybody else live paycheck to paycheck and sick of it? I am, and I really don't know what to do to improve/change this situation. I already work over 55 hours a week, I make $17 a hour. I am 26 years old, and frankly sick of this ****. Sorry for the post, didn't want to make a new thread just about this, but had to vent somewhere... ( dont really have many real life friends either to be honest )

Yes I realize that at least I have a job, and I didn't mean to sound all "whoa is me" pity me or whatever. I realize that there are millions of people out there worse off than me and what not. Just living like this for many a years now gets old. Once again I know there are people out there that have it much worse than I do.

Cut out the small expenses. Stuff you really don't need... Netflix, Xbox live. If you're a single dude working 55 hours at 17 per, that should be plenty.

Don't know many details on your situation but you can get by on less.

Trying to make a living at a dead end job does suck. If you're really fed up, there's something out there for you to do. Might suck or seem like a step backwards now, but if there's a path and a destination, that's all ya need.

Good luck bud and keep your head up! OS is here for you to vent your frustrations.

                        Re: Off Topic 2012

Hurt my back pretty back. Pulled a muscle or strained it or something, not sure but defiantly the worst back pain I've ever had.

Happened earlier when my fourweeler was sitting on top of the air compression hose in my garage, so dummy me decided that instead of being normal, putting it in neutral and rolling it off, I decided to act like big macho tuff guy, so I picked up the back end to swing it around, and it pulled a muscle.

So anyway, any advice for making it heal faster? Some people say to rest all day, while others say its actually better to move and do some light exercises and stretches. What are good methods in your guys' experience? Right now I'm just laying down on a heat/ vibrating massage pad.

                          This is something I noticed.
I haven't quite made it to the 30s and 40s yet, but am on the brink. But this seems like the opposite tbh.

Where did this whole idea of "living paycheck to paycheck" look kind of like a negative thing?

Dude, @ your payrate, you should be making decent enough.

I mean, is your house gonna be on cribs? Nah, but that seems like a decent enough wage for a multitude of situations.

I can understand wanting to do more or wanting to do something else, but damn. Anyway, just my 2 cents. I come from a town that has one of the worst employment situations in the state and just appreciate so much. Not saying you don't just, damn.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do though.

I don't think anyone was looking to jump you, they're just trying to help you look at it in a more positive light. If you're single and making decent money, you should be able to afford a few nice things and be happy with your life. If that's not working, change something... we all deserve to be happy.

I know I'm not one to talk, I make a decent salary and still live at home, so the only bills I have are Internet, phone, car payment, car and bike insurance, Netflix, Gym membership, and a loan payment, but even with some extra cash, I usually hide it from myself in my savings and pretend I'm broke.

I started taking my lunch to work and only buying a few new games, each year. With the right investments and decisions, you can turn a little money into a lot more money.
