Re: Off Topic 2012
I started up a new franchise yesterday with the Tigers on the Show 11. The plan was to do a lot of simming and drafting. So I've simmed up to 2015 and have the worst team in baseball lol. My plan was to keep Verlander/Cabrera/Fielder and have a bunch of kids around them, whether they were real Tigers prospects or guys I've drafted. Verlander ended up refusing my offer and signed elsewhere, I actually goofed up my first offseason and let a bunch of guys leave as FAs because I was kinda confused about what I was doing.
So anyway I'm now playing my first series of 2015 against the Indians. My first two starters (Jacob Turner, Drew Smyly) each pitched well and we split the games. The rubber match now comes down to my 19 year old rookie starter Adolfo Hernandez vs Gavin Floyd. Hernandez pitched like a boss allowing 0 runs through 6 innings before tiring out and giving way to the pen. Was a great start to his career and I was pretty excited about it.
In the 9th with a 2-1 lead my reliever Matt Hoffman (I left him in for lefty-lefty purposes instead of bringing in wild closer Bruce Rondon) gave up a 2-out run scoring double to Shin-Soo Choo. Cue extra innings. Bottom of the 10th, my speediest runner Quentin Berry on 2nd, Fielder up with 2 outs, blisters a single to right but it got to the RF so fast I couldn't risk sending Berry. Big Mig comes up in a huge pressure spot and immediately falls down 0-2, I catch a break on a borderline call on the third pitch that could've been an inning ender. The pitcher (Tony Sipp) tries to sneak a slider by and Cabrera smashes it over the LF's head for a game winning hit off the wall! It was a jump up, yell, and fist pump moment for me!
Spoilerthe game then immediately froze.Last edited by l3ulvl; 06-24-2012, 06:07 PM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: Off Topic 2012
So my friend is throwing a sheeshy (sp?) formal birthday party. We have to come in suits and stuff and the ladies have to come in dresses.
We're turning 25 this year, not 50.
Anyway, he did come up with a cool idea that I need some help with. All 6 of us close friends have to come up with our own signature "drinks" for the bartender to make that night and we have to come up with a name for it. Only catch is that they have to be whiskey-based, and I don't drink whiskey. I think it's either going to be Jameson or Black Label.
Any suggestions on mixes/names? I was thinking Whiskey and Dr. Pepper and calling it Dr. Harry or something, lol.
Was also thinking of taking whiskey and four other ingredients and calling it the "Rat Pack", since it's going to be a formal night, or whiskey and two other ingredients and calling it the "Triforce".Last edited by TheMatrix31; 06-24-2012, 06:09 PM.Comment

I made the mistake of reading an article in Motor Trend about sub-30k sports cars. Top two was the Subaru BRZ Limited and its sister the Scion FR-S. I also like the new Mustangs, but feel weird about wanting a V6 Mustang. Damnit.

Former Texas WR Marquise Goodwin actually made the Olympic team, so that choice actually paid off.
