Yep and I'm expecting Notre Dame to lose opening weekend to Navy. Then Notre Dame fans will be just like the Cub fans and start saying it is always next year, next year we going to go all the way.

Notre Dame fans are like Maple Leafs fans, they expect to make the playoffs (a BCS bowl in this case) and overrate every single skill position player as if they're the next coming (remember Jimmy Claussen and Brady Quinn?) It's kinda pathetic how i'm part of not one but TWO delusional, crazy fanbases.

At least I know that when/if/somehow either of these teams are legit that it'll be a fantastic feeling.

Hell I remember when Joe Montana son went there and people were talking Notre Dame dynasty. His son never started or played a down I believe.

Saturday evening I'll be at Heinz Field watching Pitt play Youngstown St. I'd say demolish YSU, but Pitt tends to underachieve and play down to their opponents so I expect the game to be close until maybe late in the 3rd quarter.

I'm also keeping an eye on Isaac as there is the potential its remnants could bring rain to the area this weekend. Fortunately my seat is under a roof so I'll hopefully be able to stay dry.

Kinda funny they are playing a school named after your favorite NHL team. Well not actually funny at all, more of a strange coincidence if anything.

We'll see. Don't know if there's a way to see lines from old games, but Pitt only beat Maine by 6 last year though they did beat YSU 38-3 in 2009.

As for their nickname, according to wikipedia YSU adopted the Penguin as its mascot in 1933, a full 34 years before the Pittsburgh Penguins began play. And also according to wikipedia, the Penguins nickname was inspired by the fact that they would play their home games in the Civic Arena which apparently was already nicknamed "The Igloo" even before they began play.

Some guy was adamant about Clausen and his amazing ability.

He played twice in 2010 with the most significant being the game against Michigan where he was 8-17 for 104 yards and an INT. I remember watching the game and saying he just wasn't suited for the spread.

Jimmy Clausen was the #1 recruit in his class, so you can't really blame them for that.

True it's just that he had so many expectations right off the bat rather than completely earning the reputation that ND fans wanted to give him.

He played for 3 games, then transferred to a bunch of smaller schools looking for playing time. Currently he is at West Virginia Weleyan.

Before that he was at Montana and Pasedena City College.
