But if we go by your definition of the Mid-Atlantic, then those states absolutely are in the Northeast. They are not New England (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont), but they are certainly Northeastern.

If you consider "Ohio Valley' to be a region or subregion, I often throw WV in there (at least the western half of the state, including Charleston Huntington, Parkersburg, etc.).Comment

When I think of the Mid-Atlantic, I think of Maryland, Washington D.C., southern New Jersey, Northern Virginia, Southeastern Pennsylvania, and the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.
But if we go by your definition of the Mid-Atlantic, then those states absolutely are in the Northeast. They are not New England (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont), but they are certainly Northeastern.
This is so funny, sad and true...
The beer!
The smokes!
The "Gentleman's Clubs"!
The impending "Amsterdam-ization" (yeah, I made that term up) of #teamOntario!
The favorable monetary exchange rates! (oops...showing my age...long gone)

I am from (and for the most part, reside in) the region in question and I agree with this statement!

Re: OS Geography: Mid-Atlatic part of North East?
South or West of Philly ends the Northeast (I guess the southern tip of NJ still counts). Whether you want to claim the rest of PA is as the Northeast is up for debate, personally I don't consider it. People I've met from Central/Western PA and the times I've spent there give it much more of a Midwestern vibe than NE.
