Does your team's outcome affect playing as them in a video game?

To be clearer, after watching your team in a game, does their performance / game outcome affect if you can play as them in a video game immediately afterwards?

No ~ their outcome has no bearing. I'd play in a game as them whether they've won or lost.

Depends ~ if they gave a good effort, but lost anyway, I'd might play a game as them right after.

Yes ~ I can't stand playing as them when they lose.

    No!

In fact, I enjoyed playing more GM/Franchise in ASB when the Red Sox were mediocre in the mid to late 90's.

When they got to be a power house I started to Franchise Miami (Florida) or Seattle in The Show series. And only Season play for the Sox.

So the huge trade they did actually sparked interest more for me to Franchise them, lol.

    Weird I know!

I agree. Now that the Rangers are good it's not as fun to play with them.

Yes. To a degree. Sometimes I get to obsessed with trying to have a realistic season or franchise so I'll intentionally drop games to mirror real life. In NBA 2k especially when doing an Association, I'll try to make sure my team's record resembles the real life record of that team for season 1. I've been now trying to just dive in quickly to stop doing that because it prevents me from making real progress.

A lot of times in just exhibition games I won't play as them. And many of my franchises are done with teams I'm not really a fan of but want to build.

Nope, not one bit. When I play sports games, I be in my own little world with my own little story line going on for the teams I'm playing as.

If my team is one of the top teams in the league when a new version of a game is released then I don't ever play with them. I will only play with my team if they are average or crappy and then build them up. So the individual games don't matter to me, it's all about their status in the league for that season.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

              Agreed!

Going to love playing with Miami in Madden this year, as well as the Sox without those players from here on out!

Not a chance. I could never not play as the Steelers, Penguins, or Pitt Panthers (or Pirates if I ever get a baseball game again) for my franchise/dynasty in any sports games. I play dynasty about 99.99999% of the time and Play Now about 0.00001% of the time.

Nope... in fact, sometimes I'll even fire up a game and "avenge" the loss in an exhibition.

I've been playing as the 49ers ever since I first picked up a controller to play Madden back in the early 90s on SNES, that hasn't changed to this day. This also includes using them during the middle part of the 2000s when they were the worst team in the NFL at the time.

I never play as my favorite team...It always seems like anytime I play a career with my team the real season goes to hell. I know it has no real connection, but it just feels like that's what happens.

Same. I can't play as my favorite teams in sports games. The only time I use them is in Exhibition/Online games once in a while

I'm none of these three options. I can't be the Packers in Madden because they are the best team. I want a challenge, so I can't be the Packers because they are a good team.
