Re: Off Topic 2014
For those of you who live the Baltimore area, have you ever come across them ?
In the blighted neighborhoods of inner city Baltimore, lined with abandoned buildings and broken down cars, the loud, rhythmic, menacing choir of dirt bikes and four-wheelers can be heard cutting through the silence. Ranging in age from teenage boys to men in their 30s, the large pack of illegal dirt bike riders race, weave and perform acrobatics at high speeds through the streets with almost celebrity stature. They are known as the 12 O'Clock Boys and people line the sidewalks with their smartphones and iPads to take in their spectacle.
To some, the ride together is a street sermon of sorts, a Sunday ritual. To the Baltimore police and to many city residents, the bikers are a public safety hazard, who can seem intimidating as they perform stunts in traffic.
But to a 12-year-old boy, who calls West Baltimore home, being a part of this urban dirt-biker pack would be a dream come true. Born Taekwon Ford, friends and family call him “Pug.”
"When I ride, I feel powerful. I feel like a super hero," Pug said. "It feels like, you know, on top of the world."
The 12 O'Clock Boys' name comes from the group's trademark maneuver: speeding down the street with the front wheel of their bike pointing straight up, like the hands on the clock.Comment

Funny story about dead batteries. My senior year in college I was waiting for my mom to arrive to take me shopping, and waiting, and waiting. Finally decided to call and see where she was so I picked up the phone and there was no dial tone and the CID screen was blank, battery was dead. I want downstairs to the lobby of my building and used the payphone there to call her and she was already in the parking lot waiting. So I went out and got in the car and she went to start it and . . . nothing. Her battery was dead.I hate dead batteries. My Jeep has one now. My wife and I work together and we rarely drive it. Basically, it just used when we have to transport the dogs to the vet or if one of us has a doctors appointment.
Luckily, Wal Mart will exchange it if it dies within 2 years (iirc). This will be the third one I've brought back.....
See Wal Mart is good for something.
Burnout Paradise was fun, but not very friendly for people with visual disabilities. The HUD map was all but impossible for me to read while running races and since there was no other in-race indicators as to which way to go, I would invariably wind up getting lost. The only event type I was really able to do was the ones where you had to wreck the other cars, Rampages I think they were called.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
Penguins : 1990/91, 1991/92, 2008/09, 20015/16, 2016/17
Pirates : 1909, 1925, 1960, 1971, 1979
Panthers (FB): 1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1931, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1976

Re: Off Topic 2014

I really liked that game, but at some point I realized that camera angle sucked. It was too zoomed downwards, so you couldn't see far enough down the street/track. As far as I know there isn't a way to save a new camera angle. I'm not trying to hold down the right analog the whole race.Burnout Paradise was fun, but not very friendly for people with visual disabilities. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 was my favorite racing game, though. Getting all those cops to chase you... So rewarding. I don't really play GTA but that's basically all I do when I have some time with it.
Favorite racer not counting the Mario Kart's, of course.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Don't forget, shoot your nerf gun. Find cover. Shoot the 2nd wave. Cutscene.
I kept playing it until I beat it because I thought it was going to get better. I can't get that time back!
