I could never do without...I like to watch sports in real time, definitely couldn't do that with MLB season coming up soon...

Sixers make up 3 of those(only city in NBA history to have 3 18+ game losing streaks) and Philadelphia Athletics make up the rest.


I'd have thought a city that sucks at winning stuff(aka Cleveland, or Toronto) would have alot of those streaks. Toronto surprisingly doesn't really have many insanely bad losing streaks in their history, though Cleveland does have a number of bad losing streaks(nowhere near as many big streaks as Philly though)

Ah, my original feeling was correct. I thought maybe the Eagles could've had two bad half seasons, if that counts. Flyers have been good pretty much from their inception in '67, and I follow them the most, so I figured they wouldn't be included but thought there was a remote chance. I would've preferred the statement to be that the Sixers & Phillies/Athletics account for more losing streaks then any other city's major 4. Having said major 4, it made it seem like there was a losing streak in each one.

Interesting stuff. The Phillies, outside of the past decade, have been notoriously bad throughout history. With some bright spots, a la the NY Mets. That's what makes so many Phils "fans" around these parts so annoying, because only the truly die hard would have supported them through so much, but all these teeny boppers know them as winners and that's the opposite of what they've always been.

That's the only reason I haven't ditched cable. I have to be able to watch Sports Live. I've given the "Netflix, Hulu and etc. only" thought a few times but I couldn't kick live sports out.

Yes

You can watch the replay 90 minutes after the game ends though, if you shut yourself off from the world for 4-5 hours.

If there was ever an option in Canada to have a real updated Netflix, and stuff like Hulu(where episodes of shows are available on internet in HD quality the next day), I'd even consider just dropping cable and getting that. But sports as well is another reason why I'd probably never be able to do that cause there wouldn't be any other way to watch a game since games get blacked out on those things like NHL Center Ice,NBA League Pass.

This is the only reason why I still have cable these days. Most of my entertainment comes from stuff on the internet. Sports and specialty things like Nat Geo, CNN and stuff like that are what I use TV for.
