I think I asked this before, but couldn't find the post. Any recommendations for a pre-workout drink? My buddy and I both suffer from being pretty lazy. The top rated item on Amazon is "Cellucor C4 Extreme Supplement Powder". I think I want something more natural. Maybe I should just not be so lazy...

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Yeah..ill use whey for pre-workout and casein after. Casein tastes better. It's thicker, kind of like a milk shake, even with just water.
I've tried syntha-6, but i felt like i seem to recall thinking it had too many carbs. Tasted better then ON though (probably had more sugar).Comment

Drink a Cup of Coffee or take some caffeine tablets before a workout, along with some Creatine and maybe Beta Alanine as a standalone. That's pretty natural.I think I asked this before, but couldn't find the post. Any recommendations for a pre-workout drink? My buddy and I both suffer from being pretty lazy. I use some PWOs (done C4, Assault, Psycho, old formula of jack3d) and I usually need to double up on dosages because of Caffeine tolerances built up... but that's more out of habbit for me, and I like to drink some "Jitter juice" before a big time workout lol. Definitely if you can do something more natural, you're going to save a lot of money not buying another commercial supplement.Last edited by Feared; 01-24-2014, 03:26 PM.Minnesota Vikings

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Like Feared said, just some regular old caffeine will do the trick. I take one caffeine tablet and my pre workout snack about 30-45 minutes prior to my workout after just waking up, and I'm all set.I think I asked this before, but couldn't find the post. Big fan of the Syntha-6 Isolate/ON Hydrowhey. Better macro's but a bit more expensive.Comment

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
They're not necessary, but considering my lack of options and the limited hours at the galley, I at least take a multi-vitamin and supplement with protein powders. That should change once I move out to town.
Some people like to treat supplements like some sacred source of goodness. I know I used to.Comment

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Would be hard for me to consistently hit my Protein without some kind of Whey, Protein powder. Some days when I have a bunch of meat on deck like chicken breasts or ground beef i can cook it all up and only need to use 1 scoop, or not even need to take a shake. Then again on days where i'm working and don't have foods prepared 2 scoops of Whey really helps.

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
Had a productive weekend. Got a 4.5-mile run in on Saturday, then hit the gym yesterday for some 3x8 TBT. As predicted, not only was I not as sore today as I was last week, but my muscle endurance was noticeably better yesterday, as I didn't see a dramatic drop-off when I went from Set 1 to Set 3, and was able to use the same weight (or more) for each set.Currently Playing:

Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE
As I get older it's harder & harder to meet my dietary goals due to a full-time job, wife & a newborn. I'm not disciplined enough to prep my meals yet so a supplement here & there helps make up for lost time. I take a multi, fish oil, biotin, and turmeric for my joints. I put the biotin, turmeric, and some flaxseed in my protein smoothie.Comment
