Your weight can fluctuate 5 or so LBs, but 17!? Doubtful.

I lost 17 lbs in 2 days in high school but I know it's not right that it went up like that in two days. It was obviously a glitch on the scale.

Ran three miles tonight and felt pretty good doing it. Still going really slow, but that's OK for now.

And I've yet to drink a soda this month. Now I've got to work on my sweet tea habit.

        Baby steps.

Looks like I may have to return my new running shoes. Last two times I've gone out for a run, my left foot has been really sore towards the end and after the run. I think the shoes are just a little too snug, not allowing enough room for the natural swelling that occurs when you run.

I've never had problems before when running, so figure it has to be the new shoes causing the issue.

I'll need to curtail my fitness for a bit after arthroscopic torn meniscus and a slight torn tendon surgery in the back of my knee sometime in April, hopefully.

            Darn clumsiness.

Doesn't hurt a bit to walk, just kneeling and getting up off the floor off the left knee.

Managed to drop down from 21.2% bodyfat to 19.5% now. My fiancé and I have been doing the Jamie Eason Live Fit program on bodybuilding.com, currently on Week 5, Day 5 of 12 weeks...

                Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I'm back on the fitness train (for the first time in almost a year) as of yesterday.

In 2013 I started the year around 219-220 and my New Years Resolution was to lose weight before my vacation in May. I ended up getting down to the around 196-197 in April, then went on my vacation and it's been all downhill from there. Yesterday I weighted in at 228.

Around the time I lost weight I was playing basketball four days a week and ended up quitting completely for about five months. I slowly started playing again in December, but only one or two times a week. Since then my back has been killing me while playing and I get bad headaches afterwards, but I think that's manly just due to me being out of shape. I'm going to continue to try to power through it and see how it goes. Also now that it's still daylight when I get home I'm going to get in the yard and run around with the dogs for 20-30 minutes each afternoon.

I basically know what I have to do which is basically the old "eat less, move more" adage; so I cutting most of my carbs and of course fast food, plus what few sodas I drink. My goal is to get down around 200 again which is still overweight for my height (I'm 5'10), but if I can get there and stay there I will be pretty happy.

I'm not sure where I'm at weight wise, but today I decided to change it. Went running for the first time, and it was awful. But you have to start somewhere, and I'm sick of being in the shape I'm in.

                      For anyone interested in P90X3...

I just finished the first month. I am lazy so I give myself exactly one hour to workout on my lunch break and the 30 minute workouts have been great. I am not sure if it's easier or harder than the original 1 hour P90X workouts. The first month was a lot of core strengthening exercises. Month two seems to focus more on the traditional weights and cardio. I definitely saw improvements from week 1 to week 3. I went from doing 7 pull-ups to 11, but what improved the most was my endurance strength wise. The last move you do on one of the workouts is called "vaulter pullups". Week 1 I was able to do 1, in the 3rd week I could do 5.

I am not trying to lose weight so I've stayed at a consistent weight so far.

                        Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I've been going pretty strong for 18 days now and have lost 9.6 pounds so far.

I certainly haven't been perfect, especially with going to impromptu basketball games and gorging out twice, but other than that so far so good.

One thing that I have been doing is keeping up with my calories on MyFitnessPal and it can really be eye opening. For example, I always give myself one cheat meal a week and it's usually lunch on Saturday. As odd as it is I've really be craving the All Star breakfast at Waffle House for over a week and had that planned as my cheat meal this week.

Just now I looked it up and that breakfast alone is 985 calories. The last few days I've only been eating 1300-1400 calories everyday and usually stay full, so it's crazy that one meal and almost the same amount of calories that I had the day before.

Another change I've made is I've tried to do something active every single day. Even if it's just going out in the yard and running around with the dogs for 20-30 minutes. My biggest help is I've started playing bball again at least twice a week and I even dusted off the old Wii to get a workout that way on late nights or rainy days.

So like I said, so far so good, I'm going to keep moving on and hopefully things will continue to go well.

                          Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I've decided while I was at the gym tonight that I'm working out for 3 people.

                          1. Myself- it's time I stop being so out of shape. I'm perfectly healthy, just fat. No high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, any of that. Every time I go to the doctor, they remark about how healthy I am, and that I just need to lose weight. At my heaviest, I was 353 pounds. My goal anywhere between 240-250. I think I'm at 310-320 now. It's also been a HUGE factor in my shyness. My appearance blocks me from talking to people. I don't want to be labeled as the funny fat guy, just the funny guy.

                          2. My exes- it's time to leave them behind and show them that they ****ed up. By the time I get where I want to be, they're going to regret ever dumping me.

                          3. My current crush- I know she likes me, and she knows I like her. We've been talking since September and aren't dating, but we're basically there lol. I want to reward her for sticking with me through all this time and looking past my appearance and liking me for who I am as a person.

3b. And if things don't work out with her, girls in the future lol.

Well, just got over an injury that had stopped me from lifting for about 3-4 weeks. Had been back at it for about 3 weeks and just got a virus or food poisoning. My stomach is all kinds of jacked up in the aftermath so I can't eat much at all and my entire body is sore from yacking about 15-20 times. I'm crossing my fingers this is the last of the setbacks for the year but who knows.

                                Good job, Scott.

I haven't been able to do anything for just over 3 weeks now. I came down with a real bad cold when I was out of town for work (that is the absolute worst being sick on the road) and then (or likely at the same time), my allergies have been really bad (scratchy throat, cough, runny nose, itchy eyes). I'm actually going to a specialist tomorrow to get all of the testing done to pinpoint what exactly it is I'm allergic to, and how to treat it. I may wind up having to get weekly shots like my wife, who went through a similar health issue earlier this year and couldn't exercise for 6 weeks.

Hopefully I'll be able to get back to it in a week or so. Really sucks not being able to do anything.
