    Re: 2014 FITNESS CHALLENGE

So I started getting serious about working out again today. I've been way too irregular with going to the gym and have spent way too much time eating crap and drinking buckets of beer with friends and I hope to get in the best shape of my life. I'm not going to totally deny myself the guilty pleasures because I love hanging out with the people I do but I'll make it a little more reasonable.

I'm 22 and I measured at 6'4" 182 pounds this morning. I've eaten well today. Went to the gym and did a basketball workout, several suicides dribbling with the right and left, then did a killer leg workout. My main goal is to get back to dunking easily. Here day one I could only rattle them in even if I gathered. We'll change that.

    Here's to keeping at it.

6'4, 182...sounds you could use some more beer and junk food.

I lost 40lbs in 4 months using mfp. Definitely useful. My company blocks the website for some reason and it does make it tedious entering my food into the app from my phone

With apps like MyFitnessPal, and NutritionMenu it's extremely simple to track total Calories.

If you're serious about Bodybuilding, and Physique it's essential to track Macros as body composition relies on Macro-nutrient intake.

When you do it long enough you can guesstimate totals based off of the foods you eat often. You will already know how many Grams of Carbs are in 2 cups of Rice, or how much protein is in an 8 oz breast of chicken... and you can eyeball your Macros.

I've found the app to be fine if you enter everything under "Snacks" instead of bfast, lunch or dinner. At least for me it lists all of my custom/recent food when I make an entry under "Snacks", it doesn't do that under the other three.

I don't really care to have my food categorized into one B/L/D in the app so it's a fine solution for me.

Good to know about the snacks. I too just started being more vigilant about logging my calories, and the app can be a pain when entering in the different meals.

I dunno if anyone does this, but I fast a couple times a month. I started doing it when I really got into yoga and I gotta say it's amazing what it does for your overall health. It's fn hard to do though but you feel amazing getting rid of all those toxins in your system. It takes a lot of energy to digest food so it makes sense when you're not digesting that your body goes to other places to fix your body.

You'd want to take it later in the evening. Post-workout you'd want to look for Whey as your protein source.

It could be any toxin in your system. You be surprised how much crap is in your intestine even after going number 2.

When you hit a wall losing weight this can jump start your system. A reason why people gain the weight back so fast is that they don't cleanse their system. For example, people lose fat but the toxins that were there from the begining are still there so it makes it easier for the fat to regain its form.

So my advice after losing a big amount of weight, do a juice fast for a couple days or just eat fruit and veggies only for a couple days and that will help detox your system.

Casein, is the slowest digesting form of Protein. The molecule has the property to form Clots in the stomach, that provide slow, sustainable release of Aminos into the blood stream.

Best bet is to take it before Bed, or before a long, anticipated fasting period.
