You can watch vidoes on youtube but I recommend taking a class. There's nothing like it because its about breathing properly and a teacher can be there to guide you on how to breath.

Also i remember you had a bad knee injury and they'll help you with adjustments so that you don't hurt yourself on other poses. At the same time you'll get stronger and more mobility than you ever had if you stick with it.

Can't say enough how much it changed my life for the better and it gave me the focus and self esteem to over come my illnesses and start a business. It's not a secret that pro teams and players are doing it in their everyday workout.

There's a brewery around here that does yoga every Saturday morning. I think its $10/session and includes one beer.

I've been doing good with my diet and have lost the 10 pounds I was targeting. Unfortunately I've been having pain on the inside of my foot for a couple months. I changed my work out and haven't been running at all but it wasn't improving so I went to the doctor. A partial tear of the tendon and considerable inflammation showed up on the MRI. I have an appointment next week to go over treatment options. I'm frustrated right now. I've had more physical issues in the last couple years than the previous 30.

        Summary- Getting old sucks.

So I am little late to the party but I thought I would share anyway.

Since my daughter passed away, I have obviously been at varying stages of depression and grief. Over that time I went from 185 to 288, which took almost 4 years. Exactly 8 weeks ago I just kind of started coming out into the light and get things moving again. In those 8 weeks I joined a gym, got a trainer and started eating food. So at todays weigh in I was 273! I know that may not seem like a lot to most folks but it has had a huge effect on my life. I know I am still very much overweight but the thing is I don't feel fat anymore. I can already move better, breath better and overall I do feel better.

I know it is going to be a long road but I am on it and so far things are going good.

Tremendous to hear Bullit. I went through a similar process of grief and depression and just kind of generally withdrawing from thinking about my own physical health.

I started just like you did and am now in the best shape of my life. The small and incremental improvements you make along the way to improving your health go hand in hand with helping heal and figuring out how to go on living again.

            I'm pulling for you, man.

I do yoga via P90X2 Yoga. I used to never do yoga, but after I sprained a couple muscles I figured I should be more flexible. Have been doing it once a week for about 2 years now. I usually do it earlier in the day on Thursdays which is my rec sports day.

Anyone have a punching bag and if so, can you recommend a good one for me? It can be hanging on stationary. I am thinking about putting one in my garage. Also any workouts you can share with them? Thanks!

If you have the room I would go for a hanging heavy bag. When thinking about space you also have to have enough room to move around the bag in a complete circle. You want to have enough room for your feet to move around while keeping the proper fighter's stance.

I went with a standing bag (Century XXL Wavemaster) because the ceiling in the basement is too low and I didn't have one spot that I could dedicate to a bag 100% of the time. I filled the base with water, but sand would probably hold better. Still the bag holds up well and doesn't move around too much unless you really hammer it. I have it sitting straight on the cement floor so I can push it around easily, but I think if you put a small rubber mat under the base it should hold in place even better.

I can post some workouts later when I get back to my work PC. On a basic level you want to maintain correct form and mix up speed with power while varying your combos. One word of advice is to make sure you get gloves (I use kickboxing gloves since they're not bulky) and handwraps.

I will typically do about 8 rounds (3 minutes with 1 minute break) after an Insanity workout once a week. The first handful of times I went at it I would do a timed round for each punch then do the same for different combos until I got comfortable enough to just do boxing rounds as a supplement.

With that said you can definitely make it an awesome base for a great workout by surrounding it with cardio and some weight exercises.

Here's some of the links I've utilized. I've kind of picked out a little from all of them and combined them.

I never went down the YouTube rabbit hole as far as boxing exercises/workouts go, but I'm sure there are a ton there and probably more useful.

                            http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o00_s00

Tastes like **** and smells bad but it's easy to mix it in a protein shake or coffee and hide the taste, and its worth it. Immediately helped my energy levels tremendously both for workouts and just in life, and definitely seems to help with recovery too. I'm having better workouts but less soreness.

Doesn't seem to be any side effects, If you buy raw maca some people's stomach can't handle it, but this kind shouldn't cause any problems. They say to start with one teaspoon a day and work your way up to 3, I did that pretty quickly and now I take one when I wake up, one pre workout, and one post workout.
Just bought some and have tried it in two different smoothies drinks the last two nights: a carrot-orange-banana-mango smoothie and a chocolate milkshake.

It was very present in both, and more tolerable in the smoothie (though there was more volume in that overall drink than the milkshake), but I hope I can acclimate to that taste because it is powerful and overriding. Plus, I don't want to get that much sugar every day so I'll have to find other items to put it in.

Haven't felt the effects yet, but it seems to have all health benefits so I'll try my best not to stop. Maybe I'll get back into protein drinks, especially when I'll have time to work out this summer (or about five weeks from now).
