Re: Christmas 2017
Just watched The Christmas Secret. No movie in history (spoiler alert), has tried to have the happiest ending EVER for a single mother. It’s insane, yet incredibly enjoyable to watch. My wife loved it.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

That's one tradition I love alot too. Driving around the city around Christmastime(usually around 23rd-25th), seeing all these lights and displays around the city, and listening to CHFIs music.
You know you've been driving around too long when you notice the station is starting to repeat lol.Comment

Re: Christmas 2017
I may have created a bit of a little monster. The other night, as a family, we watched ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas by Rank and Bass. It’s one of my top 5 Christmas Shows and I watch it every year.
Now...all my 21 month old daughter wants to do is watch it. We’ve watched in 2 Days in a row and she asked to watch it this morning. She runs up to me yelling “Santa, Santa” and making a mouse sound. She is obsessed with it. She’s a chip off the old block. Hopefully, it doesn’t kill my love for this show.
In all seriousness, it’s the cutest damn thing to me. All she wants to do is sit in my lap and watch it. It’s impossible to get a toddler to sit still for a minute, this gets her to stop right in her tracks. We don’t give her too much screen time, so it’s nice that she spends it with me.
I pray she has small memories of these times and they lay down a foundation and a love for Christmas and that it is one of the many things that helps reinforce the importance of family.
I have always loved Christmas, however this Christmas awakening that my daughter is experiencing is making me love it even more.Last edited by mike24forever; 11-15-2017, 11:23 AM.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

We've already watched Home Alone 1 & 2 and The Grinch (Jim Carrey). I'll soon have to try and find that bloody Elf On The Shelf wherever he's hiding.Comment

He’s a Steelers/Bills guy too! The hate should be doubled down!
Alas, the Christmas spirit has gotten Mike. Even Tom Brady gets a Christmas card. [emoji13]NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

All joking aside, he’s one of the best QB’s ever and I think he may play until he’s 50. I’m 44 and make more sounds than any man should while putting on a pair of socks in the morning.Last edited by mike24forever; 11-17-2017, 01:53 PM.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

Tomorrow is the Toronto’s Santa Claus Parade. It’s a day a lot of people start decorating for the holidays. CHFI 98.1 fm flips to Christmas at noon when they start coverage at the parade.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

Re: Christmas 2017
The somewhat fun part about this time of year is getting to look around for presents for family(mainly their kids). I'm probably getting them stuff I want them to like more than they probably will. Don't want to just make what I give them "just another gift".
Then again...last year was the year I fully realized how spoiled these kids are lol. I've seen them getting gifts in the triple digit price range. When I was their age I was happy getting $15 action figures. $40 video games were the special gifts I had to work for, and I was grateful for everything I had. To this day, my most used Christmas gift is probably a $20 mug from a Christmas catalogue I still regularly use because it is a real nice one.
For me, quality > quantity. I don't care if you spent $400 or $40, I'd take a useful $40 gift over a mostly flashy $400 gift. But too many people I know seem to like flashy type stuff and value worth on what the pricetag says.Last edited by Majingir; 11-19-2017, 12:55 AM.Comment
