The one thing which could never be questioned about Coquelin was his passion and effort. I'll always love that about him.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
He had the perfect chance to walk away after winning an FA Cup—on two different occasions. Instead, his egotistical inability to relinquish power has brought him to this.
Is the club to fault also for keeping him? Of course, but for a man who is as smart as he is and loves the club as much as he does, I also blame Arsene for not knowing when it's time to step away regardless of the club offering another contract.
I wonder what these last few years would've looked like if Arsene wasn't blocking the efforts by Gazidis to modernize the club.Comment

Remember last year when people defended Wenger? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

It's not Wenger's fault. Without Wenger the situation would be even worse for Arsenal.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Definitely. Questionable team selection, poor tactics and poor play certainly has nothing to do with the manager.

Ah yes, the players he has available were brought to the club by our well known Director of Football. I forgot.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
The team looked NO different today without world class talent like Özil and Sanchez even playing. They look the same every time out, regardless of selection.
What I found to be comical was the Ramsey for Chambers sub. You've already got a RF inexperienced player at LWB, then, after being scored on, you remove a defender to put in another MF?
While I am indeed frustrated (beyond belief), losing it all is exactly what we need to hopefully wake this club up and move on from the current regime.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
It’s already getting worse. It’s amazing how everyone thinks any Arsenal supporter who wants to see Wenger gone is too stupid to realize success is not instantaneous once he leaves. We need to rebuild the side, it’s obvious.
We’re currently in sixth, and could still finish seventh or eighth. This is already pretty ducking bad. So, we either continue to get worse at our current rate, or we hurry up and hit bottom so we can work our way back up.
“Ya’ll gonna miss Wenger when he’s gone” is so tiring to hear. First, it’s repetitive. Second, it’s insulting to someone’s intelligence.
We will have a rough patch, and we’ll likely go through several managers after Arsene leaves, but if that all leads to some kind of progress then it’s worth it.
We’re not delusional idiots who think we’ll dominate Europe if we could finally get rid of Arsene. All we’re saying is the rebuild should’ve started years ago, not in another year.Comment

If you read the previous article I posted, it's pretty clear that Kroenke thinks the Wenger method is preferable.
"“If you want to win championships then you would never get involved. I think the best owners in sports are the guys that sort of watch both sides a bit. If you don't have a good business then you can't really afford to go out and get the best players unless you just want to rely on other sources of income."

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
So to go over this for the 100th time, because you know it's fun this way.
We all know Kroenke is the main issue, there's nothing we can really do about it. Newcastle can't rid themselves of Mike Ashley, Sullivan and Gold probably aren't relinquishing West Ham any time too soon, and while we have Usamov, who'd like control of the club, Kroenke's shown no sign of backing down, or selling his shares in the club. Outside of Mike Ashley, I'd reckon Kroenke is one of the worst owners.
That being said, it wasn't Kroenke who purchased Calum Chambers, or Granit Xhaka, or Gabriel, or Lucas Perez, or Yaya Sanogo, etc. It wasn't Kroenke who hasn't been able to effectively use any of these players, with nearly all of them moving on. Wenger has sent signals the last few years that he's completely out of his depth in the day-to-day operations of this club. Oxlade-Chamberlain coming into his own at Liverpool is just another example of his ineptitude at getting the best out of the players he needs to perform. There isn't a miracle solution, no one here, and no rational fan is saying that ousting Wenger means we become a perennial top 4 club again, no one is claiming that Wenger leaving means we'll make it past the round of 16 in a European Competition, what we are saying, is that it's very clear that it is not working WITH Wenger anymore. I love the man, I always will, he's a once-in-a-lifetime coach, personality, and leader, but these things don't last forever, hopefully we're able to come to that realisation soon.Support Local Sports
