With Wenger you will be able to keep within range of top four for a while longer. Without him you will be lower on the table. The squad is a "Wenger-squad" and a total renewal project will take time and the team will lose identity.

You're in a crap place at the moment, I get that. It's not that long ago that Spurs had maybe a single player or two that you guys considered good enough for the Arsenal bench, so trust me.. I know the feeling.

Anyway, since Wenger is one of the best managers in the world, and Arsenal is his baby, Wenger is most likely the man to get you back up in decent shape. However, you will most likely never get back where you think you belong. Neither will Spurs or anyone else for that matter, unless those insane sugar-daddy clubs gets hit with restrictions or that their owners suddenly decide to tighten the access to the money pouch. Spurs are great right now and can somewhat challenge the big-guns, but that will pass. Kane and Alli types aren't strolling along for a cheap price every other year, and if they do, they don't always sign for Spurs.

I mean, I only think we belong in top 4. With Kroenke at the helm, there's no way we're going to be anything more. I don't think Wenger is the same manager he was when he was getting the best out of players. I think Wenger was one of the best managers in the world, and I think he is one of the all-time great managers, but it's becoming increasingly clear over the previous three years that he's not at that spot anymore.

It's going to get worse before it gets better, but I'd rather rip the band aid off than slowly pull it off.

You don't belong in the top four any more than Liverpool, Spurs or anyone else who's been contending for the spot the last few years. Any team that manages to get into that spot without massive external funding injected into the club, belongs there for as long as they manage.

Sure? I'm not disputing that in the slightest, I'm just stating what the expectation for every season should be. Expectations don't always get met. I'm not quite sure what this statement means, as it relates to nothing we've really been discussing.

Yeah? I don't think that's a point anyone has any dispute with. So... uhhh... sure.

Honestly, that sums up most of his thoughts at this point. He rebuttals for the sake of it—not to further add to the discussion.

Are they opinions? I can't honestly tell. Here's the general timeline I'm following:

So, then I reply, clarifying this statement, so that if we continue this discussion, you know what my expectation is. I'm giving context to your statement of where I think they belong.

Which is stating that other teams are also competing for top 4, which is true, and in no way disputed by anything I have said, or even eluded to. There 6 teams I expect to compete for four spots year in and year out, I don't think there are many people that have different expectations. We aren't entitled to Top 4 any more than any other of those Top 6 clubs.

You being new has literal nothing to do with this, new people come and go, oldheads come and go, but if you're unwilling or unable to follow the conversation that's happening, you're gonna get called out.

It seems Walcott is on his way to Everton and we’re in on Malcom and Auba.

Shipping out Theo will be a great bit of business—it's long past time. As for who we're bringing in...we'll see. Reports are that we'll be bringing in two players, depending on what happens with Alexis' transfer to United.

I would not be surprised if Alexis stays, leaves on a free, and we don't bring anyone in. I'd also not be surprised if Alexis to United is announced in the next few days.

i heard that someone unironically say that it's a shame that Arsenal are giving up on Walcott as he's a young lad with loads of potential still.

                        he's 28, going on 29

he is what he is for Arsenal.

he might be better somewhere else, but his potential is all but ruined at this point.

I mean you aren't even starting him and are getting £20 million. Plus he's going to a team that won't utilize him correctly anyway and aren't a threat. Great piece of business unlike certain other recently completed/about to be completed Arsenal transfers.

My biggest complaint is it's not going to matter who we bring in with this manager.

Lacazette is far under performing. Has he played 90' ONCE? We will play the exact same way whether we have Martial, Mikihitaryan (sp?), Alexis, or Reiss Nelson on the wing.

Why are we going for Aubameyang? There was a time that I wanted him so badly but now--eh. Can we get some competent defenders?

We bought a finisher who uses movement to find openings, and we're not finding him when he does that. We don't provide him service and instead, rely on him to drop deep and attempt to make things happen.

He hasn't been perfect, but at this point, he must be wondering what the hell he was brought in for.
