            Winning is boring.

Obviously we still have a second leg at home, but this is certainly not ideal, and the overall lack of creativity on display was very concerning.

Fair play to BATE, they did excellent in terms of defending, and did just enough to win the game.

Stupid red by Lacazette, but he had every right to be frustrated, and he'll be missed in the second leg.

Embarassing to have FOUR attempts on target. What the ****.

              Post match Reddit thread:

"Should have smashed them 5-0 today so we could rest players for the second leg, but no, we somehow managed to come out with 0 goals, a loss, and Laca got a straight red. It's actually impressive."

              Yup.

With the way we've been playing as of late, I'd have been more surprised had we actually won 5-0. I was expecting a 2-1 win at best.

What's really sad is that we can't even fall back on "at least we can focus on the league" if we don't advance, but even focusing on the league doesn't massively increase our chances of fourth—that's going to be an insanely difficult fight.

Our best chance at the CL still seems like favorable draws and great one-off performances on Thursdays, and we're not off to a great start.

3 CBs on the road against BATE. 5 at the back. Who are they Burnley?

I’m now in the position of the 5 at the back needs to go permanently. I’m also in the position of outcasting two of the more creative midfielders isn’t the greatest idea considering.

Yeah I just don’t get the team selection.

I blame the pitch though. What a disaster.

                              I kid, of course.

Not surprising once again, no offensive creativity with no offensive midfield players. Why’s anyone surprised? Why in the world would you play 5 at the back and not start someone like Suarez or Ramsey? Or that other dude that makes 350K/week?

                              I miss Santi Cazorla...

                              Do I miss Wenger? No.

I don’t drink anymore. But I sure could use one. I hate being apathetic about Arsenal. Hate it. I hate even more that it seems more often than not.

The five at the back for awhile now has seemed entirely because Kola. He can’t play in a back four, he’s not defensively capable or care enough.

But, our attack keeps going through him, so we need him out there, so wingbacks.

The problem is our attack shouldn’t be dependent on him, but since it is, he must be out there, so wingbacks.

I think Emery showed at the beginning of the season his preference was four defenders. Hell, he’s shown it’s his preference for years.

                                Is it May yet?
