No, he is pretty much a straight right back/right midfielder, much in the same vein as Hector Bellerin, except he can hit a cross. For some reason since his breakout 17/18 campaign, he's begun to lose his focus at some points, and his traditional passing metrics leave a bit to be desired.

It’s odd to keep reading “he can play on the right or the left.” Yeah, Hector could play on the left if we put him there, but can play and does play are very different.
My quick research shows Cedric has started on the left only twice this season.
Still, signing two cheap defensive reinforcements is good. It’s being reported the Cedric loan fee is less than £1m—if it works out, we also have a cheap rotational fullback signed in the Summer.
I like how we’re doing business right now, and I think we’ll make a few bigger moves during the Summer.Comment

It's worth noting that in the three times he lined up on the left, only one of them saw him stay on the left. That was the 3-1 loss vs Bournemouth where he played as a left midfielder. The other two games he played on the left defensively, but drifted centrally as more of an inverted wing back when Southampton were playing a 3-4-2-1 and a 3-4-3
Man, all that could've been with him before that 14/15 season. he got to play like a dozen or so games for Arsenal before his ankle injury, then i think it was his shoulder that kept him out the rest of the season. In the 30 games he missed though Bellerin really staked a claim to the starting right back spot, so he never really was able to get back in to the swing of things.
Cedric was pretty underrated since his move from Sporting to Southampton, but his underwhelming spell at Inter after two very good seasons left a bit to be desired. I think Southampton were trying to sell him this summer, and his 4 appearance stint at Inter really hurt his value(combined with the expiring contract)Support Local Sports

I really loved the Debuchy signing, and I will never forgive the piece of **** Arnautovic, while playing for Stoke, for injuring him. Don't recall the details? Allow me to remind you.
While Debuchy is in the air attempting to head the ball on the touchline near the goal, Arnautovic makes no attempt to play the ball and instead aggressively shoves Debuchy into touch, sending him down behind the goal dislocating his shoulder and derailing his career. If I recall correctly, Arnautovic was not even called for a foul.
Every single time I now see a similar challenge (they happen far too often), I think of Debuchy. Players in the air being pushed by others with no attempt on the ball is insanely dangerous.Comment

Cedric is official—the reactions that span from "meh" to jokes and active dislike are so frustrating.
We signed defensive cover—for cheap, who has experience in the league. We'll spend more in the Summer, but with how much we spent last Summer and FFP, we were never going to go crazy this January.
If you have a realistic view of the club right now (which perhaps that's the issue, some don't) then it's all pretty positive.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
So, that match yesterday.
The game massively changed once Saka was injured—didn't even matter that he was still on the pitch, just him being unable to move like before impacted our entire plan. We were given some great chances and didn't take them, and thankfully Burnley didn't take their even better chances.
I'm officially in the "moderately concerned" camp on Pepe, and that comes down to three managers now not seeming to think he's showing enough to start when it seems he should be.
I'm ready for Lacazette to sit on the bench, though—his form is dreadful.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Agreed on both points here.
Not sure if Pepe just isn’t trying in training, or not pressing hard enough in matches? I dunno..but yeah it’s concerning. Especially considering our next few summer transfer budgets are going to be affected by his fee.
Also re Laca, he needs to find his form, but he’s been given ample opportunities to do that—so he needs to come off the bench in favor of Martinelli on the left and Auba up top.
I’m very enthused at the overall progress of the club since Arteta, but am very much concerned at how amazingly difficult it seems for them to find goals. Every match is such a struggle to score.
