Both the other matches were draws? Beautiful.

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Poor defense, questionable subbing out Eddie Johnson imho, but I still feel good about us. The winning goal was a result of a bad mistake by Gonzalez - but even then, I think we will be fine.
Also - there needs to be more credit to Honduras. They had a very strong side - and are a very strong team in general. I was very impressed with Espinoza (seems his confidence is sky rocketing) and that bicycle kick goal was incredibleComment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
They definitely deserve credit. The US back four were severely SEVERELY mismatched in a few of those one-on-one situations. Costly completely embarrassed Timmy Chandler with that backheel feint in the box. That's gonna be a serious issue if/when they start playing elite teams.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
No matter their promise (Gonzalez and Cameron are going to be here for a while), it was definitely an odd choice to go with such an inexperienced centerback pairing on the road for the opening match of the Hex.Comment

Agreed. No doubting their potential. Just would have made sense to stick Boca back there. He would atleast have been more comfortable.YNWAComment

Why doesn't Sean Franklin ever get called up? I know Chandler has a lot of potential but Franklin is great in that position.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
I'd say Franklin is #3 on the depth chart at right back, behind Cherundolo (injured at the moment) and Chandler. Would have liked to seen him make the roster over Brad Evans, a decent MLS-level center mid who Klinsmann seems to think would be a good right back.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Franklin is way more consistent than Chandler though, I'd start him ahead of Chandler just for that reason alone. Chandler will end up being a better player but right now we just need consistency.Comment

It would have still been a tough ask for either of them. Tough going into an away qualifier without your best and most-experienced right back (Cherundolo).Comment

That being said, I don't care if it's a tough away fixture we should absolutely not lose to Honduras.Comment

re: Official USMNT/USWNT Thread
Yeah I definitely agree Chandler is probably better. Though to be fair to Franklin, he could easily be a starter on a decent number of EPL/Bundesliga teams, and it's not like Chandler is a starter for Bayern or anything.

This list may not be too accurate as I can't remember all of them, but I dont think there is a decent amount where he would start. West ham and Wigan would be the only two where he'd have a good chance. IMO. I can't even think of Wigan's left back so I could be wrong there too.
Arsenal - Sagna
Aston Villa - Warnock
Chelsea - Ivanovic
Everton - Hibbert/Neville
Fulham - ?? Don't even know (Probably here)
Liverpool - Johnson
Manchester City - Richardson, Zabaleta
Man U -Rafael
New U - Santon/Debuchy
Norwich - Martin
QPR - Bosingwa (Friction with Redknapp I know)
Reading - Kelly
Southampton - Richardson (maybe here)
Stoke - Shotton
Sunderland - Bardsley
Swansea - Rangel/Richards
Tottenham - Walker
West Brom - Jones (maybe here)
West Ham - Demel (def here)
