So...you can't actually play the 19th hole it seems. I just played a round there, and it was over after the 18th.

Pretty lame, since the 19th is basically the signature hole of the course.

While it's still super annoying that they advertise the 19th hole in their tweet and you can't play it, it is nice to have another course that has been added to the 2K curated list in career mode.

Just played at Payne's Valley as the host of my season's Champions Invitational, and the commentators even have specific commentary about the course. They do heap maybe a bit too much praise on Tiger Woods' design philosophies, but it's cool that they speak specifically about these new courses that get added to the game.

Payne's Valley is probably best known for the 19th hole there. It's an island par-3 set inside the huge rock formations behind the 18th green. They even list it in the hole by hole description on the course website:

It's funny because in every social media post about 2K adding this course, everyone is asking why you can't play the 19th! Especially when this is how the tweet was worded when they announced the course dropped:

Interesting...since that's not ranked matchmaking, just casual. I just sat in a lobby for 3-hole casual matchmaking for several minutes and never got put into a match...

It should be the "playoff" hole should the round end in a tie...If they didn't make it that, poor decision on their part.

OK, just received confirmation. It’s in 3-hole Matchmaking.

So it’s locked behind online play and not in a solo round??? That decision is a head-scratcher.

Anyone know who did this course? Just played I thought it was OK not anywhere near as good as some of the courses that have come out in even the last week or so.

Since it's a real-life, official course, it's likely the internal HB designers who have worked on all the other real courses in the game. It's not made by a community designer or anything like that.

Funny enough, there is a community-designer-made version of this course in the game already (TQC Payne's Valley LiDAR).

This version is far superior to the other version. Don't some of the internal designers make courses outside of the "official" ones? Crazy Canuck and Arctic Fury are two off the top of my head.

I don't think those folks work on the real-life courses...they only make fantasy "official" ones.

And they are not "internal"...yes, they are paid for their courses, but they are basically independent contractors.
