Wow, I know that putting is my weakness, but I played my first round this morning..... Not good. In the clubhouse at +13, which included me finally getting some decent approaches to finish birdie, birdie, par, bogey. Best 4 hole stretch of the round. I really like the challenge and live scoring. I was 18th when I left to go to work this morning. (Ran late because of it.) I used my own golfer, seeing how everything is maxed at 7. I had fun, but man my putting is killing me.

I think that this mode is going to be a blast this year. my psn is gr8juan. You will see me near the bottom of the leader board all weekend!

Yeah I played the weekly tournaments (both of them) and I enjoyed those too. There were a couple of guys that had unrealistic scores but I liked it. I can't wait to get home and play the "Play the Pros" Tournament.

Rob - may be a stupid question but . . . everything is automatically moved/capped to 7 no matter what your created guy is currently at? I would love to use my created golfer, but didn't think i'd be able to until my attributes get up there. I've only played 2x and they right now are in the 2.5 - 3.5 range.

That I can't answer. My guys attributes are all above 7, so I really can't say. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Oh and I thought that I should add, that since this is taking place on a course that isn't in the game, it is a mash-up of holes from the 16 courses that are in the game. Off the top of my head, I know that I played on the 17th, and 18th from Sawgrass, though not in that order.

Next week should be a good one though at Bethpage.

Fellows just wondering on this Play the Pros do you only ply 1 round a day? Reason I'm asking on Sat. I'm going out of town and was wondering can I get all 4 rounds in a day or not? Thanks

JSKY, From what I saw this morning I could've played my second, third and forth rounds if I wanted. You have to have 4 rounds completed by the time the window closes is all. At least that is how I understood it. If I'm wrong someone can correct me.

Haven't tried any of the online Tournaments yet, was working on the challenges to try and gain a few attributes first the past day or two. Now that I have a few ranks I may give this a go now that I'm around 7 for my stats except my short game which is really aweful. It really sounds like a ton of fun. Now if EA can somehow find a way to cap players attributes or something of the like to combat the -34 type of unrealistic scoring people have talked about it'll be great.

Hey guys, it looks like we can keep an OS leaderboard with Play the Pro mode. Everyone plays their four rounds each week and we can keep track of scores and winners on here. Since we would all be capped at 7, this is about as fair as you can get.

I managed to sneak my first round in and I finished with a +2. I thought I was gonna finish under par but I had a few horrible holes and it killed me. You can also sort to see only your friends scores. It was either the right bumper or trigger, forget which one.

Well, I feel like crap now....Yeah that's a pretty good score. I hope that my poor putting was due to my trying to rush through a round and get to work :wink: Nice round Pappy, where did that leave you on the leader board?

I believe I was tied for 30something when I submitted my score. Top score was like -4 under.

If it works as advertised then this is one tournament you can actually check where you stand online. Since it is playing against the actual pro scores and not other players you can just look up the real tournament scores.

+2 would have you in a tie for 55th and 6 off the lead at this moment.

I really hope that is how it works. Playing and scoreboard watching or even better watching on TV while you are playing the actual round will be very interesting. It isn't an actual in game course this week but watching The Open should be extra special if you are playing your own 4th round on Sunday and time it so you are playing each hole at the same time you are watching the leaders play it.

I was looking forward to trying this out and was pretty impressed. I had the real-time PGA Tour leaderboard up on my computer (pgatour.com) while I played and the in-game leaderboard was being updated nearly simultaneously. The difficulty seemed about right too, at least for me. I shot 1 under par which put me tied for 29th and 3 strokes behind the leaders (Jose Maria Olazabel and others) at the time I finished. Definitely a challenge with the caps and course conditions but not too hard to make me feel like I have no chance to compete. Really a cool feature.

It would be even better if you could somehow combine this with career mode so you could track the entire season, earnings, stats, etc. against the real pros (in real life).

BTW, in the score history you can also filter by "friends" (at least on the PS3), so you can see how your friends did - even though you are actually only competing against the real pros on the leaderboard.
