Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I'm not American, but man do I love your new driver!!!! I love my Stealth 2, but these colours really outshine my black and red driver. Absolutely beautiful.

Side Note:

I've played over 110 rounds this summer. I was playing 7 days a week up to the beginning of football season. I am happy where my game is. I've worked hard on my putting and it is helping keep my scores below 80 for the most part. Best round this year was a 3 over 74. I am hoping to get at least 20 more rounds in before my club close at the end of October.

Shot low gentlemen and I hope all is well.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

The fall run continues. This time we headed south to Akron, Ohio.

Love the Firestone complex. Very cool in its own way. Really enjoy the differences between all three courses.

The first round at the Fazio course I couldn’t hit any club between my driver and wedges. Truly couldn’t hit the ball worse. Don’t really know what happened there.

Yesterday we played the South and North. I tore it up on the South. What a monster that place is. Fired an 81, had 9 putts on the back with a chip in. Had a nice birdie on 12 that held up for a decent skin in our group. The north course is the most unique with a ton of water on the course. We all started having a few adult beverages, so everyone went a little backwards, shot an 84 with a 39 on the back, so I’ll take it.

Overall a great trip. You can actually do the same trip we do now. Play all three courses and stay up in the locker room. Great facility.

Some views.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Might be getting a free fitting from club champion, as they’re looking for high handicappers as part of an upcoming study they’re doing.

That driver is so money, Flight! I have that driver, but not with that paint job. Now I have driver envy again...

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Alright we’ve made it. Last golf trip of the year. We went north again. This time up to Forest Dunes. My favorite public course in the state of Michigan. An absolute must of a trip to make. It’s the perfect guys trip. Plenty of places to stay right on site. Plus the “three” courses to play.

We played the Loop Black the first day. Shot 84, little bit of struggling off the tee but got around. We played the Bootlegger par 3 course after, which is a blast. I did win two closest to the pins, which paid nicely since we had a group of 16. Yesterday we played the Dunes course. I apparently completely forgot how to play golf for like 16 holes, it was an awful effort. However I was able to turn it around in the afternoon on the Loop Red routing with an 80. 38 on the back with 11 putts to rally us in our match.

Absolutely great trip. Highly recommend this one to any golf nut. When it comes to the actual golf courses and accommodations, I actually put this well ahead of Arcadia on needing to play it.

A few views.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Forest Dunes is great; can't recommend it enough. It's almost like a super-discounted Bandon, although I probably need to stop talking about it because I don't want a bunch of people showing up there making it hard for me to get on.

In fact, scratch everything I said, ignore BDK's pics, and never go there. It sucks and is the worst golf experience you will ever have. No one goes there.

(opens new browser window to book late October off-peak round)

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

So last week I played the Champions Course at the TPC Scottsdale, the Piipaash Course at Talking Stick, Kierlands, and We-Ko-Pa.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Awesome trip, jb! Which did you like the best?

I've done one of the courses at We-Ko-Pa and TPC. But Scottsdale is golf wonderland. My only complaint is that everything is kinda far away from everything else, but outside of a few super-golf-dense areas, that is always sort of an issue with golf trips.
