Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I played Sand Valley the first year it was open, and just 15 or 16 holes on Mammoth before it fully opened, so I haven't done the whole stay and play there yet. But good call starting with the short course. Good introduction to the facility. Enjoy the walk.

The complex is set up pretty similar to Bandon. They have shuttles to take you everywhere you're going on the facility, which is great and convenient. For courses like that, I do recommend a caddie. They make the experience so much better.

Thanks!

You are required to take caddies on Lido, which I am actually glad that's the case, as that course sounds quite demanding and disorienting.

That's impressive. The Ghost Tree is a beauty. It has cables holding it up now after some strong winds last year. Truly is one of the best target sight lines on any golf hole.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Old Mac is perhaps the most "fun" of the Bandon courses, in my opinion (I have not played the Sheep Ranch yet). It's not the most spectacular or most 'ambitious', but somewhere along the way during my Bandon trip, I sort of felt like I was having the most fun on that track.

Some of that might be that I was playing better there, so who knows, but it just seems really playable and you can knock it around kind of all over there and still have a shot at a number on most holes.

I played better on Old Mac two years ago than I did this time. But I actually think it's the second hardest on the complex. The bunkering, the length. You can spray it a little bit, but it's definitely penalizing. Sheep Ranch to me is definitely the most fun and easiest, and arguably best views.

My two personal lists,

Most fun:
Sheep Ranch
Trails
Bandon
Pac
Old Mac

Best/Favorite:
Pac
Bandon
Trails
Sheep Ranch
Old Mac

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Teed it on Monday when it was 60° at my buddy's club. Shot 82 and won some money in a six man skins/wolf game, that was so convoluted that I just told the guy running it to just tell me what I won or owed at the end. Cleaned up. Now it's 20° outside with some snow flakes in the air. This is bull****.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Dropped from 73 degrees to 22 in just 14 hours here overnight last night! Thunderstorms with hail, then snow. Just wild.

Local golf show is this weekend, and it looks like it'll be in the 60s again, too. Time to stock up on gear I don't need and then take it straight out to the course!
