$299? Oh, you gotta do that.

Even if you just stored them in your garage, they'll probably gain in value over time as a long-discontinued (but beloved by some) model.

Outside of a few exceptions of incredibly rare products, or limited things like Scotty's, etc. No golf clubs game value. They're just like cars. Those clubs are worth a little over $200 in trade in value, they'll only go down.

Cool pick up though.

Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Took the sport up a few months ago. I have put together a great bag with brand new everything except the putter. Only spent about $750. Wilson D9 irons, Adams hybrids, Wilson Launch Pad 2 seven wood.

I have had lessons from different instructors. They just aren't that good like the ones I hear about other folks go to. I don't have a consistent swing. I am almost 50. I know I am not going to drive the ball 300 yards or shoot in the 70's. I am happy with just hitting the ball straight and making consistent good contact. I will not play on a course until I can at least hit the ball.

What helped you all the most gaining a consistent swing? And making good contact? Drills? Lessons?

Lots of range practice helped me the most. Calculated practice. What I mean by that is trying to replicate being on the course as much as possible. Each ball or every few balls, pick a new target or even a new club. Don't just go to the range to work on "contact" and just blast balls without having a target. You'll just reinforce bad habits.

Simulate a round! Make up a yardage for the "hole" you're playing. Hit driver or your tee box club and then do the math for the yardage of an approach shot and then hit that club next. Rinse and repeat.

Most of us weekend warriors neglect the short game. You'll use the putter on every hole, so make sure to carve out some time to get the ball rolling consistently on the practice green. Focus on speed control and getting the ball within 1-2 feet should be the goal. If you try to "hole" every putt, you're going to set yourself up with some gnarly second putt looks.

I would also recommend watching Golf Sidekick on Youtube. He's not a swing instructor but more of a "Course Management" guy. Brilliant stuff. Cheers and hit em straight!

Yeah I used a few rounds just to try them..hit them great except the 4 and 5 iron. I'm past the part of my life of hitting longer irons. Lowest I go now is 5... for now lol

They were def a "Collect" purchase.
Now they are hanging in Sim room with my Hogans and first Mizunos I ever had (MP68)
Just a golf addict at work...

HC has inched higher the past few months. up from 10.1 to 12.9 now.
Taking a while off getting through to retirement caused a bit of rust lol

To add...
I'd recommend Pádraig Harrington's YT channel also.
No frills to the point videos.

Almost certainly correct, although I have heard of people trying to buy up a lot of late-stage Vapor equipment because they either just like it/hit them well or there's an odd historical aspect there.

But no Callaways or Taylormades or anyone currently still manufacturing equipment will ever gain in value. I didn't mean to imply it would be a good appreciating investment (although your car analogy, while broadly correct, is interesting in that the car market is turning on its head in recent years, which is an odd phenomenon befitting its own thread), just that it would be cool as a major sporting goods brand's (perhaps the biggest name in sports in the world?) last hurrah in the game of golf.
