I really really struggled with it last night I did better when I just quit looking at the screen and just swing slow and not try to read the little bar.

I gave up on Tiger Woods '12 in less than two weeks because the putting felt broken to me. It honestly felt like I was putting in a different universe with its own set of physics. Ironically, the putting was almost perfect in the demo that preceded the game's release by a couple of weeks. I have no idea why they felt they needed to change it.
