I've had this happen more than a handful of times. It's a bug where they seem to just play a bunch of clips together.

Do you have the tournament atmosphere setting turned on? That could be it.

Yes, tournament atmosphere is on but no commentary. I get all other sounds except for that.

The announcers say very little during a round to begin with. Maybe once per hole if you are lucky but I have had stretches where they didn't say anything. Do you hear any comments offline?

There is also a bug where the game will try to play two comments over top of each other. This has been an issue since the demo that was never fixed.

You have to be in an actual tournament for there to be commentary. You will not hear them in the CM Training challenges.

I play almost exclusively offline in career mode. I have not heard the first bit of any commentary out of anyone in any game mode. I have played a few rounds online against friends and I can hear the commentary in the background on their end but I never hear it on mine.

Could this be an issue between using DTS and Dolby through the PS3? maybe the particular 'channel' the commentary should be coming through is being blocked?

I am getting commentary. It is sparse, but I usually get at least a comment from Nance or the other guy, talking about my "lobber".

Try going into the PS3 audio settings from the dashboard and doing the auto set-up.

This happens to me frequently when I switch the PS3 to a different TV in the house or use it at someone else's house.

The commentary audio is on a channel that some tvs and/or audio systems can't decode.

Op,

I too am having this issue. I can't remember the last time I heard any commentary at all in this game, other than through my buddies headset. It's really odd.
