Golfers Elbow

Has anyone had this and cured it? I'm going on 6 months of pretty bad pain, keep thinking it should just go away, but it's not. Golf season is only about 60 days away now. Probably have to break down and go to a specialist.

Re: Golfers Elbow

I'm just now getting over tennis elbow. It's not the same, but very similar. Golf elbow pain is on the inside of the elbow and tennis elbow is on the outside of the elbow.

I am still wearing a compression band above the elbow when I am lifting weights. I've had it for about a year and it's feeling much better.

I went to see a specialist and he told me there is people that he has seen that come in and their arm is clinging to their side. I had full range of motion, but with pain, and he didn't do anything for me. He told me it may go away in a few months or may take a year to go away.

If the pain is bad enough, they may try a cortisone shot.

Golfers Elbow

Compression band is what I use when I go to the range/course. Forgot to mention I keep a bottle of Motrin in my bag. Haven't tried the cortisone shot yet

Re: Golfers Elbow

The cure for Golfers Elbow is to grow a pair.

I do the same.. Compression sleeve plus take a couple pills before practice/playing.

Re: Golfers Elbow

I have gotten it on occasion, and it generally goes away if I leave it alone for a few weeks. I know that's tough in the midst of golf high season, but there's really nothing else you can do. It's frustrating, and it may make you feel better to go see a specialist about it, but at the end of the day it's an overuse/stress injury that has something to do with the way you swing a golf club, so there isn't much anyone can help with.

I've gotten it less in recent years, I think mostly because my swing is less "aggressive" and less dependent on swinging "hard", but it still pops up on occasion. I mostly get it in my right elbow (I'm right-handed), but I would say while the weather is still crappy, just try to rest it as much as possible.

Actually I think i've got Tennis Elbow because it hurts from the outside of the elbow down the top of my forearm. Its in my left Elbow and I write left handed and could barely grip a pencil at first. It really comes and it goes. It's gone from contatnt throbbing pain down to tolerable, but I just tried working out again and It doesn't really like anything, curls, pushups, etc. Very Frustrating. I don't think I did this golfing, I think it happened when I was exercising every day and at lunch time I'd take a 30 to 45 minute walk with hand grips in each hand, trying to really build up my forearms.
