The problem with the rangers isn't Avery, it's all the tiny forwards. You can't play a forecheck with tiny forwards. They need to get some big meaty guys, ORRRR play puck trapping, something Gomez is familiar with. They also need defensemen who can shoot the puck, not just pass it. The problem with Redden is he was only good because he played with Chara. Redden is like Larry Murphy, he plays well with Lidstrom/Coffey, but in Toronto, he was a bum. The Rangers need a topnotch defenseman to make him worth the 6 million.
