Re: Swedish Stars Rising: NHL 09 BAP

Quick note: This update is just to bring the time up to the present(08-09) Please don't mind the huge time jumps, and the shortness

August 2, 2005

MODO contacted me. I have to report to them in about a week. I'm leaving Stockholm, and don't know how far away I'm going. I wont write again until the end of the season.

June 16, 2006

Almost a full year since I wrote. The season ended back in April, our team missed the playoffs. I finished the season with 40 goals, and 96 points. More importantly though, Anaheim has not yet contacted me. No big deal, it hasn't been a year since I was drafted.

August 25, 2006

The Anaheim Ducks have not contacted me. MODO's training camp was starting soon, and they needed t know if I was going to resign. I signed a 2-year contract.

June 25, 2008

2 years. Well almost 2 years since I wrote last. The reason I chose to write today is because it's my birthday, I turn 22 today. My two years playing for MODO were great, but I've decided not to resign, despite my success there. I've actually been considering retiring. With no shot at the NHL that I can see, maybe my parents were right? I'm not going anywhere in hockey. Well I guess I can share my stats from the last three years.

1st Season
40-56-96

2nd Season
52-32-84

3rd Season
76-54-130

That's it, maybe I'll write again later, never know.

Please note, its not actually over. It's just him acting all depressed because he's not going to the NHL...yet.

Re: Swedish Stars Rising: NHL 09 BAP

I was browsing the web(TSN.ca) when I saw an interesting article. Interesting because it was about me.

TSN Report

Fabian Brunnstrom, a Swede who is expected to be a star has just signed a contract in the NHL with the Dallas Stars, and now another Swede is expected to be in the NHL soon. Scouts have said that 22-year old Mattias Karlsson could play in the NHL as soon as this upcoming season. Karlsson has been playing in the Swedish Elite League for MODO for the last three years, where hes been taking it by storm. This last season he put up 130 points in just 70 games. That was enough to draw interest from an incredible 9 NHL teams, which includes the Dallas Stars.

On the topic of Swedish players, some twins are just about set to sign new contracts in the NHL. No, not the Sedin twins, the Eriksson twins also had an incredible list of teams interested in them. They've narrowed that list down to their top five choices.

Anaheim
Boston
Carolina
Detroit
St. Louis

Interestingly enough, the five teams are also interested in signing Mattias Karlsson.

J.P. Barry has become the agent for the Erikssons, and is also the agent for the Sedins. J.P. has not hidden his interest in Karlsson and has said he wouldn't mind being his agent.

Bob McKenzie, TSN.

Just caught up on this...good stuff so far! A 7th round Swede? You should have been drafted by Detroit!

Re: Swedish Stars Rising: NHL 09 BAP

I nearly fell out of my chair when I finished reading the article. Good thing I didn't, though I think I already wet myself.

J.P. Barry? Wants to be my agent. I had to get his number. I'm really glad I've kept in touch with Jonas and Daniel. I phoned them up. Jonas answered.

"What's J.P. Barry's number? You have to give it to me." I instantly said.

"What..? Who is this? Mattias?" He replied.

"Yeah, its me, you have to give me your agent's number."

"Why?"

"Don't you go on the internet? There's an article about us. 9 NHL teams want to sign me, and J.P. wants to be my agent."

"Ohh, wow. That's great. Here, just let me find it."

After a few seconds he came back.

"Ok, I got it, it's ......."

"Thank you very much." I said then quickly hung up.
