Return To The Avalanche (An NHL 2005 Dynasty)

2004-2005 Colorado Avalanche
The Colorado Avalanche looking for the Cup for the third time this year.
Colorado Favorite For Stanley Cup Dominance.

Denver, Colorado: The Colorado Avalanche were possibly the best team in 2001 as they won the Stanley Cup. Yet since then the team has had it's ups and downs.

The Colorado Avalanche may have lost the services of goaltending legend Patrick Roy and all-time leader in points by a defensemen, Raymond Bourque. Yet the additions of Teemu Selanne and Paul Kariya could greatly improve Colorado's offence.

Plus the power of forwards such as Peter Forsberg, Alex Tanguay, Milan Hedjuk and Captain Joe Sakic improve their chances for the Stanley Cup greatness.

On the defensive side of the game, the Colorado Avalanche lost some offensive skill from the retirement of Raymond Bourque, but still boast the skilled defensive Rob Blake and Adam Foote.

In net, he may be no Patrick Roy, but he sure is something, David Aebisher will be the starting goaltender for the Colorado Avalanche.

In shocking news, Colorado fired general manager Pierre Lacroix and replaced him with relatively unknown Jason Skyland. Yet Skyland has been announced to also bring together a group of NHL stars for the 2004 World Cup Of Hockey for Canada.

So you're gonna be the GM of the Avalanche and Team Canada? Sounds interesting I'll follow.

This should be interesting. Should be interesting without the cap. Didn't Selanne and Forsberg get injured the year before and essentially kill their chances at getting the cup?

4.Hedjuk
5.Kariya

has already been injured.

Re: Return To The Avalanche (An NHL 2005 Dynasty)

Yzerman Says Slovakia Game was "No Survivors" Type Of Game

Now with the Canadiens leading the way in this tournament, Red Wings captain and Team Canada alternate Captain Steve Yzerman lets out one of their few secrets.

"Defiently, with 57 hits for the Canadiens against Slovakia, it was a game that held no prisoners" he said later after the game was finished.

"To me, it seems Joe (Sakic) and Adam (Foote) who seemed to lead in hitting down the Slovakians" said Jarome Iginla, who scored twice against the Slovakians.

"I'll say so myself, I think that was the most agressive game I played, I was hitting a lot and I felt good that I was increasing my games value by being more agressive" said Joe Sakic upon being asked about his performance.

"The more we hit, the more pumped up we get, with such a high hitting game, we're really pumped going up against a hockey powerhouse like Team Russia, though they haven't been very good all tournament" said Team Canada Captain and Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Mario Lemieux.

Team Russia has to far been 0-2-0 so far, and hope to get things started against Team Canada, who believe to have the advantage going against Sergei Fedorov and co.
