ACT THREE: 'Nearing The End'
PART ONE: 'Almost There'

-- I NEVER THOUGHT after I joined the team, that I would live down the 'BJ' thing. But I gained momentum, and so did Cody. He was moved to the second line, and like a week after, so was I. We now joined Peter Zingoni, the centerman. He was a great player, showed the two of us up.

There was some new guys on the team. And we fooled with them a little. Nothing bad. There wasn't anything bad with me and the others. Mom's expession 'Boys will be boys' comes to mind. Though in today's society, boys could be girls. Boys could be men. Boys could be dead.

Sometimes Zenon was subbed in for some guys in Tampa Bay. But I haven't gotten my chance. I didn't think anyone else would for a while. Until....

Coach Rumble and Mike Butters met Cody, defenseman Matt Smaby, and I as we walked out from the arena after a late practise. Matt was cool, he really shined on the ice too.

'Hey! Gibson, I need to talk to you' Rumble said.
'Whassup, Coach?' He asked.
'We'd like you to go to Tampa Bay Lightning for a month or so' My jaw dropped.
Mike picked it up from there.
'It seems that Left Winger Vaclav Prospal is suffering from two broken ribs. Can you re-'

I cut him short. 'Why him?'
Cody shot me a 'Don't ruin this' angry look.
'I mean...Why not Keller? He's on the starting line?'
Cody eased a little.

'Well..' Darren Rumble started. 'We were pulling for that, but Tocchet asked for Gibson.' He shrugged.
'Nice job, bro' Matt said, clasping a hand around Cody shoulder.
'Yeah!' I nod.

HE WAS DUE to leave in a week, to play Chicago. He was training way to hard, and I wasn't sure if he'll be able to get out of bed on Sunday.

Then on Wednesday. Four days until he was leaving, the worlds dumbest thing happened. (Well, not the world's dumbest, but pretty stupid, even for us). I wasn't sure what happened, but apperently Cody and Matthew Curadeau collided, and Cody got the worst. He tripped out, and now he's with the doctor. Suffering from a severly sprained ankle.
