It was a bronze medal game in the Finnish Elite League SM-Liiga.KalPa was facing Blues and the game was tied 1-1 after two periods.KalPa´s coach Pekka Virta was yelling at the players that they have to improve physical play in the last period.Then captain Sami Kapanen shouted ´´pelataan fanien puolesta´´.17-year old Mikko Holopainen and the rest of the team followed Sami Kapanen to the ice.When the puck dropped to the ice Kalle Sahlstedt won the faceoff puck slided to Holopainen and he passed the puck to his good friend Teemu Hartikainen.KalPa rolled to attacking zone and started to pass around.D-man Timo Seppanen passed the puck to Kapanen who passed it to Sahlstedt and he scored a goal.The fans started to cheer but there as still over 17-minutes to play.Two minutes was remaining when Erkki Rajamaki shooted a one-timer it was going in when Mikko Holopainen blocked the shot.Puck rolled in to corner Ryan Keller got it but Holopainen made a huge hit on him and Toni Makiaho tooked the puck and passed it to Kapanen and he tooked it to middle of the ice and shooted it to the corner.KYMMENEN! YHDEKSAN! KAHDEKSAN! SEITSEMAN! KUUSI! VIISI! NELJA! KOLME! KAKSI! YKSI! NOLLA!!!!!.KalPa won the bronze medal.

In a finnish Jaakiekkolehti magazine Jari Kurri said that he would be surprised if Mikko Holopainen would not be drafted in the first round of the draft.Jaakiekkolehti wroted that 4 goals and 10 assists in 43 games doesn´t sound much but it´s very good for a d-man.Holopainen was born in 25th of May in 1991 is very big (6 foot 3 tall and weights 211 pounds) and he is an excellent hitter.

With the draft coming NHL-teams wanted to look at the most talented young players.The game will be held in the 20th of June and the teams are going to be North-American Juniors and World Prospects.There will be players like Stephane Leclaire,Fedor Obsut,Michael Phillips,Kevin Gardener and other future NHL-stars.

Second line gives World Prospects a two goal win over North American Juniors.

Steffen Egener`s two goals in one minute gaved World Prospects solid lead in the first period.Prospects did everything what they wanted in the first period,North American Juniors survived thanks to their goalie Ian Park who couldn´t do anything to Egener´s goals.First goal was a snapshot and there was two players screening goalie.Next goal was rebound from Rami Koskinen´s shot.The biggest hit of the game happened in the first period when Prospect´s Mikko Holopainen crushed Juniors Charles Skinner to the boards.Second period started with Juniors goal that Kevin Gardener scored off the rebound.The rest of the period was coast-to-coast hockey.The last period was quite similar to second period and when half an minute was left play Bjorn Backer scored 3-1 goal.North American Juniors tried to score without their goalie but there were no more goals in the match.The games was very clean and there were no penalties.

Draft day,finaly I´ve waited this day for so long and now it´s happening.I don´t know which team is going to draft me my agent Henri Virtanen said I could be in the top ten.That would be good for finnish hockey because if you think the first finns in the last couple years have been Niclas Lucenius as 115th in 2007 and Jori Lehtera as 65th in 2008but I´m not the only finn that could be drafted in the first round there is Teemu Ahonen,Rami Koskinen and Mikko Salmelainen.This is going to be a great day for Finland.

Mikko Holopainen smiled when he was asked about his contract with the Coyotes.´´I´m just happy to get to play in the NHL´´,humble young man said.He will get a chance to play with the Coyotes maybe already in this year.Phoenix coach Dave Tippet said that Holopainen will get a chance with the big club.
