Simon Gagne also contributed with a goal and 2 assists. This is the end of their 3 game road swing to start the season. Their gonna have to prepare for their home opener against Boston on Wednesday.

Montreal's home opener was successful as they beat Boston 2-1. It was a tight checking contest. It wasn't a easy win by any means. Steve Downie led the way for Montreal with a goal and a assist. Montreal is off to a hot start winning their first 4 games of the season. GM Rejean Houle must be all smiles now as another one of his acquisitions comes through to make him look good.
