Re: NHL 09 Be a Pro: Aaron Wheeler #27
WOOHOO! I finally arrived in Binghamton, I called up GM Tim Murray.
Me: "Hey Tim it's Aaron Wheeler, I just arrived in Binghamton"
Tim: "Oh that's great! were are you at right now Aaron?"
Me: "Umm, I don't really know... the street name i'm at is called Arny St."
Tim: "Your in luck Aaron, I know exactly where that's at. Don't move a mustle, i'm going to be sending one of my workers to pick you up and bring you to you to the arena"
Me: "Alright thanks a lot coach, i'll see you later."
Tim: "Bye!"
I hung up the phone, almost instantly the worker was there. She stepped out of her Chrysler 300c and my jaw just dropped, god was she pretty!
"Come on in Aaron!" She screamed
"Umm, actually I brought my car so maybe i'll just follow you?" I quickly replied.
"Okay, sounds good" she said
Smart move, i'm such an idiot. I should have just said okay and went in her car, I really hope I see her more often.
I got into my car and followed her to the arena, it was suprisingly not a long drive at all, I think I got there in like 40 minutes or so. I got out of my truck and got out my hockey bag and my Nike Bauer Supreme ONE75 stick.
Hot worker: "Well, here we are!"
Me: "Yeah, hey thanks a lot for bringing me here, I really hope to talk to you again in the future."
Hot worker: "Yeah me to, hey here is my number"
Me: "Thanks! and your name is?"
Hot worker: "Oh i'm sorry my name is Morgan, and you must be Aaron right?"
Me: "Yeah you got it"
Hot worker: "Well, i'll talk to you later. I've got to get back to work... sadly"
Me: "Oh sorry, bye!"
Hot worker: "Bye"
She soon drove away and I walked into the rink, there was a man sitting there who showed me where the locker room was. I went inside and PLOP! A slushy hit me right in the face.
Bursts of laughter quickly erupted in the room, I whiped the slushy off my face and looked around. The whole team was laughing at me and even the head coach was joining in.
"Welcome to the team!" said Danny Bois, who I suspected was the guy who threw the slushy.
"Wow thanks, I guess..." I almost whispered
"So were does my gear go?" I asked
Everyone pointed to a locker that was inbetween Defenseman Derek Smith and goaltender Jeff Glass, I walked over to my locker and place my gear inside it. Jeff Glass and Derek Smith both welcomed me to the team.
I then got ready, Shawn Weller screamed "Last one out has to scrub the toilets!"
He quickly ran out and so did about one-fourth of the team.
Dangit I thought, what if I am the last one out? I finished getting dressed as soon as I could and got out before the rest of the team.
I got onto the ice, god I felt so good. I was now officially part of the Binghamton Senators, I skated around and tried to stay away from my of the guys because they where "pranksters".
After many cruel skating and passing drills we had a schrimage, this was my time to show that I could contend with these AHL players.
4 defenseman were placed on each team, I was on the second line with Neil Petruic while Derek Smith and Brian Lee were on the first line for my team, I was on Red Team.
I finally got a chance out and nothing really happened, how am I exposed to impress the coach!?!
Forward Ilya Zubov speeded down the middle of the ice with Chaz Johnson to his right, it was a 2 on 1. They passed it back and forth but I was ahead of them by a mile, I intercepted one of the passes and speed down the ice. One deke, two dekes, three dekes and then I noticed there was nobody else to deke. I was on a break away!
I made a few nice dekes and then tried bottom-left but the goaltender Brian Elliot stopped it, I looked over and I saw my coach with a smile on his face. Either he was smiling at the nice play I made or the nice save Elliot made, I hoped it was the first one.
