STUART SUSPENDED FOR THREE GAMES AFTER HIT ON VOROS

Detroit ~ The Detroit Red Wings are saddened to see that defensemen Brad Stuart has been suspended by Gary Bettman and the National Hockey League for three games after his hit from behind into the boards on Aaron Voros of the New York Rangers after the Rangers stoned the Red Wings 3-0.

Aaron Voros is said to be side-lined for at most, two weeks, his injury has been undisclosed, but it looks like it is an upper body injury, as he skated off the ice without help from a teammate or the trainer of the New York Rangers.

Jakub Kindl, a prospect of the Detroit Red Wings who has been playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins, the American Hockey League affiliate, has been called up to replace Brad Stuart in the lineup.

Kindl, 22, is supposedly the next Nicklas Lidstrom, he has strong skating speed and finesse, with a nice, quick, accurate slap shot like Lidstrom or even Penguins defensemen Sergei Gonchar.

Also, Darren McCarty, a healthy scratch of the Red Wings has been sent down to the Griffins, hopefully to give him the playing time he has been asking for from head Coach Mike Babcock.
