Re: Sea of Gold: A Create a Team Be a GM (NHL10)

I simmed to the home opener

Pittsburgh 6
Winnipeg 1

Buffalo 3
Winnipeg 1

Winnipeg loses 3 in a row
What is going on in Winnipeg after scoring 7 in Game 1 they have only scored 4 in the other 3. Also there defensive woes continue as they have let in 18 goals in 4 games which is last in the league.

Columbus-Blue-Jackets2.png @ BANDITS-logo.gif

WIN 2 (1-3-0) Including this game
COL 3 (2-3-0) ^^^^^^^^^^^^

1st Period
Things started off very bright for the Winnipeg Outlaws as they looked to try and score early and they did. Only about 3 minutes in Peter Blake roofed his third goal of the season. Columbus just kind of shook it off and added one of there own 2 minutes later when Nash scored on the rebound to make it 1-1. With about 3 minutes left in the period Nathan MacDonald went to lift up Umberger's stick but hit his wrist instead and got called for the slashing and received a game misconduct. This was not a very good thing for the Outlaws as they had to go 5 minutes on the PK and lose one of their third liners.

2nd Period
The Outlaws did a very good job to kill of the penalty only allowing 5 shots on Burns in 5 minutes. With about 30 seconds left in the PK Nash would high stick Joey Campbell sending the Outlaws to the PP after 30 seconds of 4on 4. The Outlaws did not disappoint as they continue their 19% PP as Johnny Spezza would tap in the rebound of Joey Campbell's shot to make it 2-1. With 6 minutes left Umberger returned from the locker room and that was the sign of all good things to come for Columbus. Litteraly on Umberger's first shift and on a bad Winnipeg line change Umberger would find himself on the breakaway and with a nifty move the game would find it self 2-2.

3rd Period
The game had stayed 2-2 for a while and neither team could take control until Rod Dermak would take away a rebound opportunity but Umberger wanted revenge as what felt like 1 second Umberger had stick lifter his stick got the puck and roofed it top shelf. Even after many tries and many shots, the Outlaws could not answer back. Final Score 3-2 Columbus.

BOX SCORE
1st
2:46 Peter Blake [3rd] from J. Campbell and J. Spezza
4:57 Rick Nash [4th] from RJ Umberger
2nd
3:02 (PP) Johnny Spezza [3rd] from J. Campbell and P. Smith
14:36 RJ Umberger [2nd] from R. Nash
3rd
12:14 RJ Umberger [3rd] (unassisted)

3 Stars of the Game
1st RJ Umberger- 2 goals 1 assist
2nd Rick Nash- 1 goal 1 assist

Re: Sea of Gold: A Create a Team Be a GM (NHL10)

I simmed 5 games

San Jose L 2-6
St Louis W 5-1
Boston L 2-1
Detriot L 5-3
Los Angeles L 3-2

3-7 Outlaws Finally get a win

After anther 3 game losing streak the Outlaws finally get a win over the New York Rangers in Shootout and the most unlikely hero emerged there.

BANDITS-logo.gif @ new-york-rangers-logo.jpg

Winnipeg 2 (3-7-0)
New York 1 (5-4-3)
F/SO

First Period
The first period once again started off well for Winnipeg but really when does it not. 10 seconds into the game Avery was called for slashing and the Outlaws powerplay does what it does best as Patrick Smith shot hit the pads, but Jamie Feliner was on the doorstep and knocked in his 2nd. The rest of the period was mostly either shorthanded or having an extraman but no one scored ad nothing signifigant happened.

Second Period
Other than a few scoring changes here and there, nothing really important happened this period.

Third
The game looked sealed for Winnipeg and Burns was having his best game of the season but with twenty seconds left Marion Gaborik ruined everything when he sniped one top corner. To overtime we go.

OT
I am just going to skip to shootout.

This was a very good shootout as the goalies for both teams looked solid and played that way too. The first two shooter for each team. STOPPED. The next 3 shooters for each team STOPPED. Another 2 shooters for each team STOPPED AGAIN. Then Mikko Holopainen stepped in and I guess since he is a defensive defenceman Lundqvist must of underestimated his as Mikko went 5 hole and Lundqvist could not make the save. Mikko was the hero in this game netting Winnipegs their first win in 4 games and their 3rd win all together.

BOX SCORE
1st
1:20 Jamie Feliner [3rd] from P. Smith and R. Dermak

2nd
No scoring

3rd
19:22 Marion Gaborik [5th] from V. Prospel

OT
No scoring

3 Stars of the game
1 Jamie Feliner- 1 goal
2 Marion Gaborik- 1 goal
3 Logan Burns 15 saves 1.00 GAA

Sorry about the lame typeup, it wasn't the most exciting game as there was only 16 shots fro Winnipeg, 17 for NY, and only 2 goals with no major hits.

Hey the dynasty is looking good, just one thing though. For the box score when ever you or the opposing team scores write it down like you usually do but change the color so we can see which team scored for example: D. Roy, from T. Vanek

Actually thank you for asking, after reading that I think it is a good idea. Thanks for the input.

Blackhawks topple Outlaws in OT

The Outlaws could not make it 3 in a row and win but they would pick up their first overtime loss while at it. Not bad for a time that started off 3-7.

BANDITS-logo.gif @ chi.gif

WIN 2 (7-8-1)
CHI 3 (10-5-0)
F/OT

1st Period
The first period started off very well for the Outlaws as 5 minutes in Patrick Smith recorded his 7th of the season with a nice pass from Peter Blake. There was many penaltys this period including a game misconduct to Patrick Sharp for slashing Nathan MacDonald, MacDonald would be fine. The period ends 1-0 in Winnipegs favor.

2nd Period
This period would remain 1 nothing for most of it until 1 minute left in the period Kane and Hossa were on an odd man rush when Hossa faked the pass and then wristed it top corner. This period would end 1-1.

3rd
With 5 minutes left the game got intresting as with 5 minutes left Winnipeg got lucky as Peter Blake slapped home his 8th of the season. Things were looking good for Winnipeg as Burns was playing sharp and had some good saves. But all good things come to an end as with 1.2 seconds left Toews scored on a rebound. Ahh the game was going to OT.

OT
OT was not very interesting as 30 seconds in Hossa took a one timer pass from Seabrook and scored the game winner. It was also the second of the night for Hossa.

BOX SCORE
1st
4:21 [PP] Patrick Smith (7th) from P. Blake and J. Campbell
2nd
19:01 Marion Hossa (7th) from P. Kane
3rd
15:38 Peter Blake (8th) from P. Smith and E. Hart
19:58 Jonathon Toews (5th) from B. Seabrook and D. Keith
OT
0:21 Marion Hossa (8th) from D. Keith and P. Kane

3 Stars of The Game
1st: Marion Hossa- 2 goals
2nd: Duncan Keith 2 assists
3rd: Patrick Kane- 2 assists
