Re: Avalanche WARNING

Sully's Two not Enough to Lift Av's
-Brett Driscoll,Toronto,Ont.
Colorado got thier fifth strait road game off to a good start as they score just 5minutes into the game on the powerplay. As Steve Sullivan got his fourth while converting the stastny pass. Only two minutes later Toronto fans cheered as fan favorite Phil Kessel was alone on a break away and they cheered even louder when Kessel deked Anderson and put the puck in the top corner.Later in the period Gigure watched in horror as his pass was cut of by a streaking Sullivan who then depsited his second of the night. Kulemin of the Maple Leafs started the second period strong as he blazed down the wing and scored on a thundering slap shot just above the left face off dot.Early in the period Toronto grabbed the lead and would hold on a power play goal by Dvorak. In the win Toronto long time defenseman Kaberle, picked up three points.

Up next for the road weary is the Montreal Canadiens. Then the Av's face Westren Confrence champions the
Detroit Red Wings.A good matchup between the old and the new.

Re: Avalanche WARNING

-Montreal Celebrates a win in overtime

Av's can't Solve Halak
-Brett Driscoll,Montreal,Que.
You wouldn't guess from the score but tonights game was a very exciting one. The Av's just didn't have it in the end though,as a full week of traveling has finally caught up to the Avalanche. This marks the first two game losing streak of the year. Even though Craig Anderson was phenomal making desperation save after save.A tripping penalty by Tom Pressing in overtime sealed Colorados fate. A clean face-off win by Gomez to Gorges, and he let go a bullet from the point that beat Anderson over his glove hand. All was not lost as the Avalanche scrambled a point in the O.T loss.
As trade talk rumours persist between the Avalanche and Red Wings maybe Drover and Holland can deliver a trade when the two teams meet Tuesday night.which will clearly be a battle between westren confrence rivals.

Re: Avalanche WARNING

-Avs Dominat Red Wings in thier first matchup of the season.

Av's Demolish Mo Town Wings
-Brett Driscoll,Detroit,Mich.

Colorado came in to Detroit, losing two strait. The Avalanche took command early when Liles who is having a very good start to the year scored on the man advantage.Sully scored on a shorthanded two on one in the second. From that point on,Detroit just looked flat and beaten.Colorado didn't take thier foot off the pedal as they would score two more times before the period was out, on markers from Backes and Mueller.Detroit came out ready in the third period as Zetterburg intercepted a cross ice pass and broke up Andersons shut out bid .Linemates Hejduk and Sullivan scored later in the period to snuffed out any comeback by the wings. Stastny is on fire in his last four games he has an amazing 12 points in his last five games.

The avalanche travel to Minnesota to play Northwest Confrence rivals.Whenever these two teams meet it is usually a tough hitting game.

Re: Avalanche WARNING

Kronwall Offers Pour in
-Darin Dregar,Tsn.ca
After last nights blow out loss to the Avalanche, I have heard that Kenny Holland General Manager of the Detroit Red Wings has placed Swedish Defenseman Nicklas Kronwal on the trading block. Holland could not be reached by TSN for a response. TSN has heard from sources connected to the Red Wings that Colorado and Florida are the fornt runners in trade negotiations. Detroit asking for a top six Defenseman, a prospect and possibly a draft pick.
