Flyers Take on Chicago in Stanley Cup Finals
PHIALDELPHIA,PA--The Philadelphia Flyers are back in the Stanley Cup Finals after a one year Hiatus. Taking on Boston in the first round the Flyers easily swept the Bruins to face Montreal in the 2nd round. Carey Price of the Canadiens held the strong Flyers offense at bay, but the Montreal Offense couldn't muster any sort of attack. Next up was Alex the Great and the Capitals. Alex led the Caps to a 5-4 Win in Game 1 and then 3-2 Win in Game 4, but they too fell to the balanced Flyers offense.
Chicago, the 5th Ranked team in the West, knocked off the Stars in 6, before facing Division Rival and 3rd Ranked Columbus Blue Jackets. Behind Thomas Vanek the Hawks knocked off the BJs in 6 also. Next up was Hawks Goalie Roberto Luongo's former team, the Canucks. Luo got the best of them and now is in his First STANLEY CUP

GOALTENDER
It's Future-Hall of Fame Goalie Roberto Luongo vs Youngster Johan Nielsen. Luongo has been steady for the Hawks taking them this far and is definately capable of taking a game over, while on the other side Johan Nielsen has proven himself a solid starter. He's faced down Jonas Hiller, Carey Price, and Seymon Varlamov and defeated each one. Should make for an interesting matchup. ADVANTAGE: CHICAGO
DEFENSE
This is also a close matchup, with both team's top pairs, Parent-Belfour and Gragnani-Meszaros equally capable of shutting down teams. The advantage between these two is the depth. Philadelphia easily has THE BEST defense in the league. Bobby Sanguinetti leads all defensemen in goals with 4, all on the PP. Kent Belfour has more points than Gragnani despite playing fewer games. Not to say Chicago is weak in the depth department, but it's hard to matchup with Philly.
ADVANTAGE: PHILADELPHIA
OFFENSE
Again very close and will also come down to the Depth. Both top lines are absolutely phenomanal. Chicago is led by 20 year old Cory Gilbert(89 OVR A-,B-,B-), Thomas Vanek, Patrick Kane and Zach Hamill, while Philadelphia has Claude Giroux, former Hawk Jonathan Toews, Mike RIchards, Jeff Carter, and Matt Duchene. Same as Defense the Flyers just have too much depth in the top 12. Magnus Paajarvi is finally becoming the player he was expected to be as he has 12 points in the 15 games Philly has played. Look for him or Troy Fernandez to be a factor in this Series.
