EnCana buys the Nashville Predators!

Halifax, NS -- You heard right! More Canadian hockey is coming to the NHL. The deal was made a week ago, but it was released today. The EnCana Company bought the Nashville Predators, and they are relocationg to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They have changes their name to the Halifax Hawks, and have modified their roster a lot. Some of the old Preds stayed, others left. With that, they needed players badly. They signed a few free agents, some rookies who didn't get drafted. The Hawks will play in the newly built EnCana Arena. The final roster is expected to be released tomorrow.

Game Preview: 10/10/08 @ St. Louis

St. Louis, MI -- The first game in history for the Hawks is tonight versus the St. Louis Blues. With all the former stars and newly signed free agents mixed together, they've had a lot of practice to prepare. Even with this, we predict St. Louis will win. Let's see if they can pull it off tonight.

Hawks Defeated in NHL Debut 5-2

St. Louis, MI-- The first NHL game for the Halifax didn't go very well. At the beginning they let a couple of goals in, then they were discouraged and it went downhill. Some good news though, they got their first 2 goals in history. The first one was by Martin Erat in the 2nd Period, then they got one late in the third periody Martin Gelinas with 5 seconds left.

Note: I will now play every 5th Game (excluding playoffs)

Hawks get first home win in a 2-0 Shutout over the Jackets

Halifax, NS-- After beating them the night before, the Hawks beat the Blue Jackets again. This time, however, they did at home and made it a shutout. Jordan Campbell obviously had a great game in goal for Halifax, saving all 13 saves. Not many, but it counts. They are also trying to work out a deal with some free agents, to hopefully boost them for more games. The Hawks are now 3-3-0-0.

Halifax signs Center Ryan Getzlaf!

Halifax, NS-- Halifax has signed 23-Year old Center Ryan Getzlaf to a 4 Year contract worth $6.750m. He will be 1st String Center , and if he plays well for the rest of the season, he will become captain. Hopefully this will give the Hawks a boost on the 1st line. He will make his debut tomorrow in Halifax versus the Calgary Flames.

(Simming the next 4 games, then posting results....)
