Blades of Steel: A Nathan MacDonald Prologue

As several of our dynasty regulars know I have created myself in my Ottawa Senators dynasty but wanted to fill everyone in on my back story. As a little side project I have decided to play one season in the DEL playing position lock as Left Defenseman and report the season as a fictional blog from the player and post the players stat updates after the game. Consider this a hybrid between a dynasty story and a BAP story. Now to fill you in...

As mentioned in the dynasty I was undrafted after my Major Junior career with the Halifax Mooseheads was over; mainly as I had to refine some of my fundamentals. Disappointed I took the advice of my mentor and hometown hero Colin White and went to play overseas for the Hamburg Freezers in the German Elite League.

The league features many prominent European players and older veteran NHLers. Many will say that those NHLers are washed up and has-beens but to a young player that has at lot to learn about the game those veterans can be an invaluable asset and great guides and mentors to help you perfect your game. Also, unlike the other European leagues the DEL plays a similar physical and gritty style much like the NHL; except on the international ice surface.

So here is the first entry and enjoy!

Thanks Axe, I wanted to say I thought of the idea at work today while sitting on the crapper but thought that might be too much info - LOL. I need to find a balance though as I now have 3 projects on the go between this, my Ottawa dynasty, and Edmonton dynasty.

I honestly don't know how you do it, I've been thinking about starting up another on the side but it's already enough work to manage one and here you are with three!
